Best place I have ever eaten at is at a restaurant in Bowness on Windermere called Portos. More locally I would say a restaurant on the Calls in Leeds called Brasserie 44. Just wondered where everyone else has been that a memorable good experience.
when i lived in Hull with our lass 25yr ago went to a restaurant on the banks of the Humber, just under the bridge, its a bit sad but the mushroom soup was possibly the best soup we have ever had, if you ask our lass now the same question , she would say the same, (we don,t get out much)
Would have to say Fischers in Baslow. It is where my wife and I got married. Go back every year on our anniversary.
The Loch Ness Lodge Hotel in Drumnadrochit. We stayed there for our honeymoon. Twenty Five years later, we celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary with a slap up meal there, all local produce. We were given champagne with the meal by the management which was on the house. Two years ago, they did exactly the same when it was our Pearl Anniversary. http://www.lochness-hotel.com/
'De Stove' Bruges Tiny restaurant, husband and wife team. Chefs recommended menu with pairing wines ..Faultless!
I can think of 2 meals which I've enjoyed more than any other - a salmon dish in Tofino, Canada and a veal dish in Brugges. Come to think of it, on both occasions the whether was so cold/wet/inclement outside that I was just thankful to get inside and get some food in my belly. But the taste of both was fantastic.
Chicken skewer on the grill for 30 minutes in Sunny Beach Bulgaria 2 summers ago never have I tasted chicken like it cooked to perfection and it only cost £10 for the whole meal (£0.90 a pint). My favourite local place to eat would be the 'British Oak' on the A636 on you way to Wakefield from Denby Dale roundabout really nice pub menu and they do a really nice mixed grill
We had a lasagne in Rome last year, that was oreight, I had a good pasta in Florence too. But the steak I had in the Algarve in 2000, that was summat else. I also made sexy time with an Irish lass same night. #Winning
Went there a little while back for a mates 40th. Had a nebraskan grass fed porterhouse. Just wow! Most amazing steak I've ever had I think. Pricy though! Went to Trishna restuarant in Marlybone as well recently (think it had a Mitchell star). Definitely wins the prize for the best Indian food I've ever eaten. Fine dining sort of thing but superb. Will be back there! ( http://www.trishnalondon.com/
Had this conversation with my kids. My youngest said Toby Carvery The Red Lion Grenoside McDonalds and Hillsborough Leisure Centre I could have cried.
The Three Acres restaurant at Emley Moor. Not only is the food brilliant but the place itself has a warm and friendly feel about it. The staff are brilliant and helpful.
Jamie Oliver's restaurant in Watergate Bay in Cornwall is the best I've been to recently. Great views out over the sea too. Went to South Africa a couple of years ago. Amazing country and the food and wine were stunning wherever we went.
