The team are on a great run and have been since the beginning of December. We've lost just two of the last fifteen league and cup games. We've kept a clean sheet in five of the last seven league matches. We're scoring plenty of goals, without having to rely on one individual all the time. We have one of the Division's top scorers, who is on course (injuries permitting) to become the first Barnsley striker for nearly forty years to score 20 league goals in a season. We're still in with an outside chance of the Play Offs despite losing eight league games on the bounce in Autumn, when it appeared we'd be in a relegation battle. Now we're not. We've reached our first ever Wembley Cup Final.
Due to all this, I for one don't see the need to persistently criticise any individual playing for us, as I'm proud of how they've all turned round our season and every one of them who has played during this period has made a positive contribution.
Are things perfect? No. Can things be improved? Yes, of course. But, for now, I'm a happy bunny and am enjoying this current form.
I just might have a glass of red wine to increase my feel good factor.:D:D

Nearly 40 years? I hadn't realised that. I thought David Geddis scored well over 20 goals in the 80s but you will probably tell me he didn't make 20 league goals.

Brian Joicey was the last striker who scored more than 20 league goals in a single season with 26 in 1976/77.
David Geddis (a truly wonderful striker for us) scored 14 goals in the 1983/84 season, after being brought in from Aston Villa. He scored another 10 the following season before being transferred to Birmingham just before Christmas. He scored an impressive 24 goals in 45 league games, but they were split over two seasons.

Joicey had a great season that year, I thought Big Trev Aylott scored 20 goals plus, did his total include a few cup goals.....

Big Trev was with us for just over two and a half years, Graham. In all that time he scored a total of 26 league goals. Even with his goals in the League Cup during the 1981/82 season he still didn't end up with a total of 20.

Too right Kev, he was a legend, he dominated the front line, never shirked a challenge, I was gutted when he left....also played when we had such a great team

The affection and respect Trev had, and still has, was witnessed every time he played against us for Crystal Palace, Bournemouth & Oxford United.
