If we did something like this as often as HTAFC do then there would be massive uproar from ST holders and rightly so.

Benefits the non season ticket holders.

Great initiative shown here to get the ground full and rocking. Perhaps you ought to go on the Huddersfield town forum and ask the season ticket holders their opinion on this, thus evidencing any concerns.

Not all of them, imagine how you'd feel if you'd just bought a £23 ticket for the next home game (as I've just done for saturday's game) and this offer came out? Fairly peed-off I should think. Only needs one thing to fill the place, a team giving everything, playing exciting football and winning. We've got that so there should be a great crowd on saturday.

Of course if the club were to drop it's normal prices by a couple of quid - with a decent compensation deal for the ST holders, that would go a long way to filling Oakwell.

Fantastic offer. Football seems to be the only area I can think of where people are happy to be ripped off and justify ripping people being ripped off (in part) by saying that it will alienate people who alreDy have had massively discounted tickets.

Spose it depends how they're doing it. Is it a one-off, or for a longer period? If it was for a longer period, you couldn't blame ST holders for complaining

A one off but part of a series of initiatives to attract casual fans.

Fair enough. It doesn't work like, but the odd game here and there seems reasonable.

Just had a look on their forum. The general consensus is that the season ticket holders are paying only 8 quid a game over the course of the season, so few quibbles there. The major argument is that if you bought a ticket for this game a couple of weeks ago then it would have cost you 20 quid, but those who have waited will only be paying a fiver. These deals will not be on for every game either.

Everyone has overlooked that the 48 hour offer is being bankrolled by a sponsor.

I believe an adult season ticket cost £189, so they're not really in a position to complain.

I paid at tenner to watch us against them sat with the home fans they seemed happy enough and it felt successful. You're right in isolation it does nothing but in conjunction with a lot of other offers and very cheap season tickets it's created a successful feel good factor ( helped by the team being pretty good).

All these offers are being massively bankrolled though. It can't last forever. Will be interesting to see how it pans out when all these prices go back up again

What the hell is WRONG with benefiting non-season ticket holders?

I agree that's the test but Bradford seem to be maintaining the increase in fans despite gradually increasing prices.

I've bought my ST and got them for both my daughters (one was an U12 freebie). I don't care if the club wants to offer £5 games, discounted group deals etc. etc. etc. I'm happy with the early bird deal I got and I think it represents good value.

If somebody can get into Oakwell for a quid on a Saturday, good luck to 'em, I won't bleat 'cos I've paid 13 and a half quid or whatever it works out at. As a nation we seem to be obsessed about other people having it better than us.
