Watkins is worth more than double that.
Very much an underestimated player at Barnsley.
Obviously Bristol and Ipswich can see his value and are trying the usual trick when it comes to Barnsley - offer them peanuts and they'll snatch your hand off !!!
Which is a shame coming from two ex-Barnsley employees.
Let's hope Pat tells them where to go.

I'm not bothered who's sold as long as we get top dollar for him.
In saying that - there is a team of good players here now and selling more than one per transfer window is going to disrupt a successful team.

For me, Watkins is our best player.

Controversial opinion maybe considering the exploits of Hourihane, and considering how little we seem to miss Marley when he's not in the team.

But he's seemingly gone under the radar as he's scored less than Winnall and assisted less than Conor. However nothing can be taken away from the influence Marley has on our team when he plays. He's good for a goal or an assist every game, whether he plays 9 minutes or 90.

The fact that I can't decide what his strongest position is, just highlights how good he is wherever he plays. He's the complete package, and I wouldn't even pigeon hole him as a jack of all trades, he's a master in a couple of them. His work rate is 2nd to none, his vision and passing is incredible and for a solid built chap, he's incredibly agile.

Marley doesn't get anywhere near as much credit as he deserves in my opinion. But I seriously think he's very close to being a complete player, and is the one in our side I'd have no doubt of playing in the premier league.

    Honestly.

Would be first on the team sheet for me, every game.

10 million is the least I would be willing us to sell for.

agree with archy, Marley has got everything you would want from a player and seems to be getting better. At today's prices a realistic fee would be anywhere between 6 - 10 million if had decent time left on contract. In this window I would not sell for any less than 2 million, however as much as I love this team I think if we do get some decent offers for the players and there is a belief players are unlikely to sign again then we should let them go now. The club needs to give hecky the best chance of being competitive again next year. Hecky rightly pointed out these players don't grow on trees and it has taken best part of a couple of years to develop them to this level. I do get frustrated reading this board as some people don't appear to understand what the going rate for players performing well at this level. The money being swashed around is unreal but why should we think our players are worth any less.

I wouldn't budge for less than 3m if I were the club tbh.
Marley is worth far more but we're not gonna get it with only four months of season left then he's free to negotiate.
Depends on how much LJ and Mick want him are they gonna offer enough to turn the clubs head and get in front of queue or are they gonna take their chances in a free for all at end of season.
As I say depends how much they want him.

He's said he loves it here and wants to sign a new contract. So get it offered Hecky! Love Marley. IMO one of the best wingers in the championship with 6 goals and 6 assists

Great player. Miles off being as good as Conor but still brilliant with a great attitude.

Nope he's up at the end of the season - but when they asked him in a presser the other week he sounded really enthusiastic about staying so I'd be optimistic he'll sign a new contract

Not like the 80s hero Mick to try and sign a player on the cheap from his hometown club.

No, signed here for 2 seasons under LJ.. If he's not going to extend here, id take the money. Typical Barnsley that we have six of our best players in the last throws of deals, makes us still look tinpot

The way we have handled the Morssy situation is not filling me with confidence that we will handle any other deals well and we could see an exodus by 31 Jan.

You're implying we've mishandled the Morsy situation. Can you please tell us what we've done wrong??
