Which tube station is the best for Craven Cottage, Putney Bridge or Hammersmith ??

Just don't go to Fulham Broadway, unless you're going to Stamford Bridge.

    Putney Bridge.

All pubs by the river from Hammersmith appear to have closed.

    Putney Bridge

Or East Putney rail station, walk down Putney high street, plenty of pub choices, over the bridge, turn left.

I see their website recommends the Eight bells or the Tupperance for away fans.

Putney Bridge is closest, few decent looking pubs around that area, then it's a fifteen minute walk up to Craven Cottage. A few pubs down the Fulham Road as well but it's walking away from the ground back towards West Brompton/Fulham Broadway tube stations.

Looking forward to it. Will be at kings cross for 10am. Is there plenty of pubs near the ground or will folk be getting the tube to Fulham late on?

Well either get off at Parsons Green stop after Fulham Broadway and sup down Fulham road or cross the river.

Our train doesn't get to Kings Cross until 12. We're heading to Putney Bridge, hopefully by 1pm. A drink and some food in the pubs around there, and a walk along the river to the ground. Having used Hammersmith as a stop off for my previous employers' head office some years ago, I'm hoping that the area around Putney Bridge is better because there is nothing much around Hammersmith, from memory.

Really looking forward to it, though I fear Fulham may have too much for us. Best team I've seen this season.

Cheers, was thinking of The Temperence, if it's still open. Will see when we get there.

Gets a good review here. I've discounted it as we will be short of time to be at the wrong end of the ground, and also wanted to avoid Hammersmith.

    Football ground guide:-

David Frear recommends; 'The Crabtree on Rainville Road (10 minutes walk from the ground) welcomes all away supporters and as a Fulham season ticket holder I can tell you that as long as you don't watch your football at Loftus Road you can be assured of a warm welcome'. To find this pub go along Stevenage Road away from the Cottage and the away end. On reaching the home end of the ground, turn left along an alley which runs behind the stand. When you reach the River Thames turn right and walk along the riverside path. You will reach the Crabtree on your right. Alan Holmes a visiting Norwich City fan adds; 'The Eight Bells (before the game) had a wonderful atmosphere (home fans enjoying it as well) and there was even a backboard proclaiming "Run by football fans for football fans" and headed "Welcome to all Canaries fans!" The Crabtree (afterwards) was well worth the swim against the tide and when the weather is pleasant, the spacious beer garden is an added bonus. This pub is also just under 20 minutes walk from Hammersmith tube station. There was an excellent range of real ales in both pubs'.

Reason i considered off at parsons green theres fresh air between pubs so it means we wont be quite as well oiled.

Stewards were a bit keen other week...
