Seems that clubs have got sights on our most valuable asset and with the amount of clubs it seems like it'll be Bree calling the shots. 5 million pound a starting point could potentially dewarth anything the club have recived intially for a single transfer.

Put it out there that I think Davies could be a very highly rated goalkeeper as a second or third choice for a lower mid table prem club.

Offers for Hourihane and Winnal? Not sure but they aren't liekly to attract the big bucks for Bree.

Marley Watkins? 1 million pound? could the club turn it down?

Obviously they could turn a million for watkins down we got the sell on for stones the Mawson money and the bree goes for 5/6 million? Marley said himself he loves it here and hopefully he signs a new deal... I doubt we will get more than 5 million for bree he is out of contract in summer so it won't dawrth even the fee we got for ashley ward.... if he goes to City or a.premiership team I expect us to see him back for the rest of season.

Hourihane is our most valuable asset. Bree could be a good one to cash in on future resale

Our most valuable asset is away at the African Cup of Nations and will be off the market, hopefully. Could be a blessing in disguise, as long as our other full backs step up a gear. We still need cover though, as I doubt both will get through the month without injury...

We do have assets just as valuable, if it weren't for their fading contracts. And arguably, Marc Roberts. Though not sure of his contract status.

Agreed. It's simple to see how young James Bree can be replaced. His replacement is already at the club. It's almost impossible to see how Conor Hourihane could be replaced. Well, it's impossible for me.

This ^^ if bree.goes AY moves back to his.natural position (right back) and white takes the left back slot we need cover/replacement as white is injury prone.

I wouldn't expect to see how again this season if he leaves to anyone of the champions league clubs. I'd imagine Manchester City and still in the youth cup and James Bree could play in that this season. A lot of the big teams like to have a intial period at the club which Stones and Holgate had at Everton.

He's a special talent and i'd say 5 millions a starting point unless he kicks up a fuss.
if he does go this Window, he's been a joy to watch over the last 2 or 3 years.

The club should be turning down £1 million for Marley, he's worth far more in the current market.

Relatively speaking I'm less concerned about the prospect of Bree leaving for a decent fee than I am a number of other players, given that we already have Yiadom. I'd like us to keep everyone of course but that's just not realistic. As commented in this thread already, just how would we get ourselves an equal replacement for Hourihane? It would be impossible. Personally, I think Yiadom would do just as good (if not a better) job at right back than Bree.

Conor is irreplaceable. £1m for Marley is a joke and will be treated as such. And what's a dewarth? A posh short person?

Its not the case that Bree is a great player its just that there's absolutely silly money flying about... Hogan from Brentford and lad from Grimsby, to name but two

But it does also mean our basement bargains will be a hell of a lot harder to get..Don't think they'll be out cheap this window

PS if we lose SWW to Brentford... we as a club want to pack it in and **** off and put sheep on the field..

Barring one or two, the whole squad is going to be attracting suitors ...

That is success, but also being Barnsley FC

The first Hill season is a warning about selling too many players.

Not comparing Hecky & Hill in terms of ability, but as he said last week, these lower division buys don't grow on trees.

Sell the squad & I reckon Hecky will be off too.

Im going on what I heard a few weeks ago when I told you in a thread that they were big clubs interested in bree do you remember? You said yourself you didn't think he was far off a big move.... I had heard from someone I deem a "good source" villa were very interested and also man city were but would loan back for rest of the season. Look at mooy city signed him and loaned him straight to Huddersfield for competitive game time.

I would say that the order of importance in terms of players we need to keep/sign this month is as follows:

    Hourihane
    Winnall/Watkins/Roberts
    Morsy
    Bree

£3 million and I'll drive Bree wherever he needs to go. Got loads of improving to do, and the thing he's paid to do, defending, he isn't very good at.

But he's young and that's all that matters these days. He is actually our weakest defender by a long way, it's no coincidence that he's been out performed consistently by both George Williams and Andy yiadom at full back in the last two seasons.

He's not bad at running down the wing but personally I like my defenders to be able to defend
