If we have accepted the amount that I'm hearing we've accepted for Hourihane.....

It's genuinely difficult to believe you've heard anything of any use unless you say what the figure is.

Or at least provide a half decent explanation (beyond you looking a pillock later on) as to why you can't print it.

We're set to get more than that for Winnall.

Why are people so quick to believe Alan "Wrongun" Nixon and Radio Sheffield reporting the fee on the back of him.

The club might as well fold if they sell Hourihane at this stage, otherwise what is the point?? We are in a great position in the league, with a great Manager, or first team coach or whatever he's known by these days, surely any football club, no matter how big or how small, strives to play at the highest possible level?

PC has a £32m fortune. 1 season in prem gives £100m.

You would think the club might gamble £1m or so on getting there. It's a huge payoff for a small gamble.

Agree, but i fear its too late, Hourihane is probably off the same way as Winnall for a measly £1 million.
The same rumour is breaking on Owlstalk.

This is becoming utterly bizarre and very disconcerting. There must be something driving this behind the scenes. As much as the money offered elsewhere will tempt any player and the club MAY think it's better to get unhapy players off the books etc, the fees we are reportedly accepting are simply bewildering. We are in danger of totally de-railing a potentially special season and destroying a good chunk of the vibrancy around the fanbase at present. If the club can explain it all and offer a decent rationale for what appears to be happening, then great. If there is a masterplan being worked on that will see us push on, then great. But at the moment it seems we are effectively giving away two exceptionally important players to a club most fans see as major rivals, which given everything the club has been about recently, is bizarre. I'm not necessarily saying what the club has done/is doing is wrong, just bizarre.

My thoughts exactly. There simply is no point if even in a position of being play off contenders and not having financial pressure to sell, we are willing to rush through cheap sales of our very best players, to not only our play off rivals, but also our local rivals who will revel in tearing Barnsley fans apart over the coming days, weeks, and months.

It's beyond comprehension and will rip the guts out of the fan base which has recently rallied around the club in both numbers and support.

The football club needs to drop the inferiority complex and start behaving like a Championship club.

If Winnall has turned around as suggested and said he wants to go to Wednesday, and he is the annoying angry little man that has been suggested before, disrupting harmony. And Wednesday have paid us £2m plus a big sell on, then I get that.

Selling Conor will be very very different and can't see the club being that daft - unless again he has forced a move. But don't see him being the type.

Honestly, at this moment in time i am wondering if there is any point supporting the club anymore? We are passing up a chance to challenge for the Championship play offs to get into the premier league, something we have only ever done once, and i was too young to remember. I would like to think that my club wants to move forward as far as possible. I know its more difficult for a club of our stature, but that's all the more reason to grasp the slightest opportunity when possible!

How can he force a move any more than any other footballer who's under contract?

I didn't want to be right with what I said about Hourihane yesterday but the guy who told me is nearly always right so at this point i'm just hoping when they announce those two tomorrow we have some serious incomings to make the fans happier.

It's not about incomings though mate. It's the principle. It's the approach to transfers. It's completely bizarre and frankly, ****** up.

I really can't get my head around any of this and it really is testing my will to spend Saturday afternoons at Oakwell.

They want to announce double signing tomorrow and get Hourihanes past the line to make the Saturday squad.
30k a week for Hourihane apparently.
