Yes, all his vast experience as a chief exec would prove invaluable. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
Sorry about the spelling it seems you need a degree in English to dare to post on here, because that's all some folks read it for. How much CEO experience did Linton Brown have? Mick's been dealing with players contracts and dealing with agents for years. It's clear that Hecky needs support and another Barnsley man would add to the strength. Just a suggestion.
We need a new Rimmo. A man connected to the club. For whom the club is in his blood. That he injects an aura around the place and people look at him as being a permanent fixture, with stories to tell. Someone to keep the kids, and the seasoned pros in their place. To knock them down a peg or two when needed, to build them up a bit when struggling. To support Hecky, and take take pressure off him in weeks like this. A man with football in his veins, with stories to tell and who has been there, bought the T-shirt and come home to stay. Mick might be that man. As CEO? Laughable. As a director of football / father figure / permanent fixture / link between the players and the board ........... I'd have him here in a shot.
Exactly. And look what happened If we were looking to appoint a director of football then Mick McCarthy would be a good choice but a CEO is more than just a player contract negotiator. In any case Mick hasnt been fired yet..
You don't need a degree in English, because I haven't got one. I read this forum because I care about BFC, and have done so since 1968 when I attended my first match. I don't read this forum to be critical, but it does annoy me when people can't even get names right, particularly so for club legends like Mick.
For me, hecky is our new rimmo. The club massively need to look after him. More than anyone else IMO. At the moment I get the sense that's not really happening
I am convinced that Hecky will be that man. He's been at the club in several capacities already. If the day comes that we no longer feel he's up to the roll of head coach, I would like to think he would be offered a role elsewhere within the club. He's Barnsley born and bread; supporter, player, development coach, head coach, and he's currently fulfilling the role left behind by a CEO. It sounds all too familiar already. I'm sorry I annoy you, I think my outlook is the point is more important than the detail, but there is a danger you could frighten some people off by attacking their spelling, particularly with names that can be spelled in different ways. I haven't got the time to look it up and I tend to post when the thought comes to me. Wombwell High School is not to blame. I saw my fist game in 1955, but I can't say that I appreciated what was going on. My first hero was Tony Leighton, although my dad was always going on about Johny Kelley (Johny looks wrong). I met Johny at Mitchell & Darfield club and he had a trick where he demonstrated his knee swivelling round because it was b*******, but I never saw him play.
