    True....but as I pointed out earlier what was left of Germany after 1945 and the absolute stranglehold of the Allies prevented it beyond any doubt ....my own father travelled through Germany in 46 and 47 , he said all that was left was a moonscape .

    I see no reason at all for her to resign. She was elected to serve for 5 years unlike the unelected PM who is ignoring the wishes of her constituency voters.
    THis all Brexit is madness. It is like having a profit making shop in Meadowhall and then relocation to Wombwell High Street thinking you are going to sell more. Shear lunacy with absolutely not evidence that the Country will prosper. Did the leavers vote for the Financial Institutions which caused the crash in 2008 to be given "Special Treatment"? How do I get rid of the italics?

    Less of the tory labelling please pal, you couldn't be more wrong if you tried. But I hear it day after day about having to vote Labour because of the pit closures so yes it is a single issue for a lot of Barnsley folk of an entire generation. Like I said, Independents who live in the town and want the best for Barnsley are what this town needs.. Not a bunch of people towing the party line beit Tory or Labour or the jokers in the lib dem camp.

    Can you tell me EXACTLY what the vote was for? Over 90% of the voters had NO IDEA whatsoever and lots of them voted out as a protest against the government. The whole process was completely flawed, the Outers told blatant lies and the Remainers just tried to scare the people. It WAS NOT a fair and properly democratic process, it was more akin to the effing X-Factor.

    As much as the war was bad in the UK and occupied territories, Germany had it a lot worse by the end. Between 1.5M and 3M civilian deaths (we lost 67,000 civilians), 4.4M-5.4M soldiers (383,000 UK soldiers died) and an estimated 2M women were raped during the final stages of the war - including Helmut Kohl's first wife when she was 12 (over 100,000 women died from suicide or abortion as a result). Out of a population of 69M in 1937, nearly 9% were dead within 8 years and 3% were gang-raped.

    Irrespective of what happened previously, and you could argue that a lot of that was revenge for similar atrocities to the Jews, and in Poland and Russia. I think something on that scale would certainly stop any future thirst for war for generations.

    Lest we forget, the referendum was 'advisory' only. Not legally binding in any way, shape or form. Parliament had absolutely no obligation to act on the result, only to use the outcome in any subsequent discussions and decisions they would make. I voted remain, the result went the other way, that's democracy. I just hope the Govt crack on and get us out; the sooner we're out, the sooner we can start clearing up the crippling mess it will ultimately leave us in. Good luck with that US trade deal, Theresa Appeaser!

    She abstained but whether she was there or not is irrelevant, her stance is clearly different to her constituents, I wouldn't want her speaking for me
