Fantastic read from a fantastic bloke. When you look round the Modern Oakwell he built it.

Back in the day, I wasn't really a fan of his. I don't really know why, I think I just got swept along with the general consensus of folk around me at matches. But then I read his book (think it was called something along the lines of 'It Was Sometimes Like Watching Brazil') and did a total U-turn on my opinion. The man, and his dad before him, sweated blood for the club, had their hands tied decision wise by the shareholder voting scheme and then the ITV digital debacle was the biggie.

Great read that. I will always respect what JD did for our club. Really good to read the view from the inside.

Like him, I have strong memories of the Wolves vs Grimsby game the day after our defeat at Portsmouth. I stood outside in the rain for 2 hours listening to a very crackly signal from BBC radio Humberside on the car stereo, pacing up and down the street with nerves. Got piss wet through but went in afterwards a very happy man.

Forgive my ignorance but why wouldn't you be keen on John Dennis?

My personal view was that he generally did a good job and certainly has the credentials to be a CEO. Even better that he genuinely has got an affinity and love for the club. Surely he fits our ethos?

Excellent read though - best article I've read in years about our club.

I wasn't saying I wasn't keen on him. Quite the reverse.

What I'm saying is there is no chance of him being involved at BFC under the current owner.

    Oh I see, my mistake.

Am I right in assuming there's some animosity between him and Cryne then? I think I remember that Cryne was one of the investors he mentions in the article.

A brilliant read. I used to love listening to John Dennis at the Supporter's Club meetings. You could see and hear the passion he has for our club. He was always entertaining.
