Not exactly breaking news but I think Watkins tweet has just confirmed he's leaving:

"Great atmosphere today, shame about the result. Decent season, good to get double figures. Big summer ahead more motivated than ever "

Well in my opinion "big summer ahead" and "feeling motivated" give implications he's excited about he's next move.

"Big summer ahead" could refer to the amount of players we'll be signing and "feeling motivated" could be him being upbeat about being our first choice striker next season? It can be interpreted differently is all I'm saying.

In my opinion Marley will definitely be off though, a mid table/play off pushing championship side is my guess.

I dont agree with you, although you could well be right, when he says more motivated than ever, I take it he means with us.

I really like Watkins and rate him. But he's missed some chances last few matches. Wonder if he'd been playing regularly up-front he'd have put them away? Two guilt-edged at 2-0 today and at least two against Brentford.

I think we've under-used Watkins as a forward this season. Best finisher at the club by my reckoning and offers a lot more than Bradshaw or Armstrong centrally. I wouldn't read too much into a Twitter post, but I fully expect him to leave. The rumours of 12 grand a week will clearly blow us out of the water. He's a great example of a player properly growing and developing with us. He came as an unknown quantity and is potentially leaving as a Championship attacker. It's our recruitment policy examplified perfectly, save for the transfer fee at the end for us to re-invest. I suppose we've had the footballing value from both him and Scowen, but it's £5m of combined value leaving for nothing. Frustrating. Would love them to sign new deals.

To-days Daily Mirror reports that he Marley is at the centre of a four way Championship scrap for his signature.
It says he's had offers from Cardiff City, Ipswich, Bristol City and Wolves.
It's rumoured that Aston Villa and Premiership Burnley could also be interested although Bruce has been told he only has
£1 million to spend and therefore must sell if he wants to raise funds for any new signings.
As a free that's probably why he is interested in signing Marley.

Speculation now is that he's about to sign for Norwich City. Apparently if newspapers can be trusted "we" rejected a six figure bid from an unnamed club in the January window.!!

He had an offer from a premiership club and wanted to play in the premiership. His transfer request directly related to the premiership club. No toys chucked out. In fact I would argue much more commendable than the actions of winnall and even hourihane

Doesn't take much to be more commendable than Winnall from what I heard and even saw for my own eyes at oakwell

He could rugby tackle tobytyke and **** inside his head and would still be more commendable.

No way is he good enough for the premiership. He's a good, versatile, hard working championship level player.
He would need to improve his finishing & crossing by a country mile to make it. He'll leave, as nearly every team in the division can offer more money than we can.

He made it known in the Chronicle last week why he left and most fans would agree with his every gripe.

No, he's says he had an offer from a Premier League club. Well they can get him for nothing now, so where are these clubs?
It's all rubbish, he wanted money like the rest have/ do.

I am a big fan of Marley but and after over 55 years of supporting the reds I think I'm not a bad judge of a player but I have to agree with JP he is nowhere near Premiership standard. In my view a good striker has a good shot to strike ratio. Marley said he missed chances this season. He needs to ask himself why.

I like to think that he wasn't publicly lying to everyone. If he was I'm sure the club would have corrected his lies by now.

Maybe the interest has fallen on account of how his season ended?
