Touchy? I'm not the one that made a dozen points in the reply...

It's a strange one - it would appear a perfect fit for us and Lloyd. I thought back when we won promotion, the reason we hadn't signed him was due to maybe Southampton wanting a substantial fee for him. Now, I'm not so sure - are his wage demands too much? I would've thought he'd jump at the chance to come back to Oakwell, especially with McCarthy signing on now also - maybe this will persuade him to join us over Ipswich, despite us not being able to compete financially with them on the wages front.

I'd be pleased to see Lloyd back at Oakwell, always gave 100% and if he could improve his end product, would be a valuable player for us.

    Not for me.

Played four games since he left us and about fifty in his career.

Maybe this will become the norm - players getting to 25 and despite having been with a league club all their career, they have less than 50 games under their belts.

I thought perhaps his experience with us had pushed him further up the pecking order at Saints. Didn't they extend his contract after we got promoted?

Must admit I didn't rate him for a large part of his loan with us. He seemed lightening quick with little else, but he was very good at the end of the season.

I'd like him back at the right price. Like a lot of the loanees (Kent being another example), they start off raw & towards the end of their loan, start to show that end product that wasn't there at the start. Another year back at Southampton, with their excellent coaches should have only added to that, even if he lacked game time.

Beware of Chris Lumsdon syndrome. Those who remember him will know what I mean.

Yes that thought had also occurred to me!
Mind you I can counter with Adam Hammill of course

Always exceptions to any rule, and Hammill is exceptional. So many loanees are not though when they become permanent

All signings are risks... Within our budget Isgrove is as good as we could wish for, and we might not even get him
So it would be a definite yes from me.

    Wouldn't class him with those.

Admittedly he did best in his first loan spell but his goals at Walsall, Huddersfield and Millennium helped us into the playoffs and get promoted.

Also scored at Southend following season to help guarantee stopping up.

Think he got a brace at leeds that season as well?

If Hecky fancy`s him that's good enough for me - don`t think he would be out of place in the Championship and always showed the `right` attitude - wasn`t a big time Charlie!

According to the below from SkySports, Ipswich are about to sign a winger on loan from Man City. He's a right winger so does that free up the move for Isgrove to come here, I wonder?

Ipswich have won the race to sign Manchester City winger Bersant Celina, according to Sky sources.

The Kosovo international has agreed to join the Sky Bet Championship side on a season-long loan and will complete the deal on Friday.
