surprising good views from the 'summit' of Dodworth muck stack.

(despite someone dumping a couple of old fridges there!)

Top of Hoylandswain by-pass looking towards Silkstone I bet you can see for at least 50 miles.

At the top of Green Moor near Stocksbridge there's a plaque that says you can see York Minster on a clear day. I have to say I refer the view at night, just seeing all the lights, the four power stations off in the distance. Scarborough seafront at twilight is always another favourite.

stop it - this thread is making me homesick!
Surrey has "nice" views but nothing compared to the views you get once you head up into the pennines or out onto the moors, or even out to the coast.
And I also love the view of Oakwell when driving down from Kendray towards the town!

If it makes you feel any better the traffic lights at stairfoot are out of sync again. You don't get that in Surrey

Heading North on the M1 and you see the Emley Moor mast...you know you're home back where you belong.

I drove up Upper Wortley Road to Thorpe Hesley yesterday and gave way to a car crossing me. As I did I looked left and there's a magnificent view of Greno Woods across the valley. I've been up that road hundreds of times and just driven straight past as I'm always concentrating on the road.
