    I've got to say, we're a pretty appalling batting unit at test level. I've a feeling the focus on one day honours is going to derail us for a fair few years. If Root and or Cook fall early, there's nothing in this time that can bind.

    T20 batting at test level gets you nowhere against a decent bowling attack, and that's what we have, a lot of flat track bullies. We were lucky at Lords that Root was gifted so many lives and that the pitch turned increasingly sideways.

    Dreadful batting technique.

    Only Cook willing to dig in this team is soft as ****. They need to get Bairstow back to 7 and get a proper 3 and 5 in rather than pissing about with Dawson doing naff all.
