all our speculation on here about signings and he pulls a rabbit out of the hat...... the man's a legend!! welcome Ugbo!!
yes a loan. fandabidozee.... the interview inferred permanent signings. So I for one am still expecting six permanents...with Ike being the first of the loanees....bet I am well wrong though... I bet its six loans. Which again will rip us to s h i t in January. The season long loan malarkey is ******...there will be a clause in there to recall if he looks owt like special or if a bigger club offers better... just you watch.
let's look on the bright side we've got more strikers than we had this time yesterday!! season long loan is for a season isn't it? he's hardly going to be recalled to fill costa's boots is he?
Nothing wrong with the loan market, if used properly. lets face it, without the loan players we would never have got promoted.
End of the day pal I doubt we'd have any chance of signing someone of his caliber permanently so what do you do, just not sign them on loan?
The OP is about "handing it to Hecky" and not one launching a debate about the merits of loan v buy etc. To that end, yes, I think you do absolutely have to hand it to Hecky. By all accounts this lad is one of the most talented in his age group and was wanted by Leeds, Wolves, Vitesse Arnhem and Dwarf's City, as a minimum. Therefore for him to choose to come here speaks volumes for Hecky imho.
My thoughts exactly. As a club we have built a reputation of nurturing young players, whether its ours or another club's. To the extent that young players from Premier League Clubs are recognising that we are a good club to go to. I'm not sure what people want us to do. Spend £15 million on a midfielder, like Wolves?
Try and enjoy 'the now'. If this lad lives up to the hype we may well end up being privileged to have seen him in a reds shirt (a la Fletcher). Obviously it may be too much for the lad, but can you not enjoy the possibility at least? Other than the odd John Stones coming up through the ranks that's how it is for us, and personally I'm okay with that. Imagine if we also manage to get Fletcher as well! Who knows how the season might turn out...
Costa' s been told by Conte that he's not in his plans for next season. He has been pictured with his mates on holiday wearing an Atletico Madrid shirt and has expressed a wish to sign for them. Besiktas are also been reported as being interested in taking him but given a choice he said he wants to play in Spain. Apparently Costa and Conte don't get on and so the manager is determined to get shut.
