    ... on Oakwell ground improvements.

Including the gable ends, new pitches, stadium signage, new exec floor, and some other stuff like anti vandal paint.

I'd have done it for 295000. They never asked me.

Been told replacement signage all over the ground, and a new club crest and lettering to be put up Ponty End. New caterers.

I assume so, think the works to the West stand were so that it could be used, as there are no plans to rebuild unless we get to Prem Lg.

Might need that anti-vandal paint to stop us breaking out before they open the gates.!

I am told that a large Perspex sheet has been erected in front of the new scoreboard with magnifying qualities.

Is the new catering internally ran - so we might actually make some money from it?

£300,000 doesn't go very far in construction these days.

I can't see how any of these improvements have anything to do with making the West Lower (North) available. The gable end prevented a block of seats being used in the West Upper (South) last season. It didn't prevent the use of the West Lower (South). Surely the same would have applied at the northern end of the West Stand if we had wanted to use it. I still think the real reason was extra police/steward costs.

Evidently not. I didn't think it was possible for the west stand gantry to look worse but they've managed it

Ironically I remember reading the views of a few Villa fans after our game at home last season. One of the things they commented on was the fact that we have traditional advertising boards and that it was a refreshing change from any other club in the top 2 tiers. Obviously it's commercially more suitable to have electronic advertising boards though.
