Rambo was my hero back in the day. I can remember selling him an Amiga 500 when i was working in the computer store in Barnsley. I knocked him £100 off and got a right rollocking for it. Worth it tho lol. Right player

He'd probably still have more pace than Bradshaw.

Pretty sure dangerous Brian at Mansfield would have been 2003 not 1993

You forgot to add one of your old sayings.

"They don't want to go up."

Think that should be updated to "they don't mind if they go down".

It was 2003 Troff. Remember the ball kept getting booted over the low Stand we were in at Field Mill.
I also remember that Bobby Hassell played at full back for them and he came to us the following year.

Also if everyone recalls the Machin years, when he first took over he signed loads of new players.
First few games they looked as though they'd just met up at Durty O'Dwyer's , but they eventually got to the pace
of the Division and we were OK in the end.

Same' s happening right now. We just need to keep the faith and get behind the team. In Hecky's own words on
Radio Sheffield " they're good players". I believe that, otherwise in my view they wouldn't have been brought in.
Jamie and Hecky will eventually knock the rough edges off and when Lindsay, McGeehan, Pearson and Isgrove are all in
the team, I think we'll be surprised as to how well we can play.! Like all good sides we need the potential to attack and defend
    as a unit.

I refuse to join in the negativity that's been expressed in some of the postings. If we haven't brought the players in that we
patently need come the end of the window, that's when I will start to get concerned, but until that point is reached I will
remain optimistic that we can survive.

In the thirty seasons supporting the Club I've never known it being any different.
Sadly apart from the sole year in the Premiership , we've had to be frugal in the market and in order to survive we've often had to sell our best players. So it begs the question- what's changed now.?

In Fridays "pull out" in the Chronicle Maurice Lindsay says " In 2016/17 we finished a very creditable 14th and I am
sure most of our supporters would have settled for that at the start of the season.? However with the benefit of hindsight,
we could perhaps have achieved an even higher position. The play-offs were certainly on the cards at one stage.
Consolidating our position in the Championship and competing for a play-off place must be our aspiration this time."

I used to get invited to the Clubs get togethers at Ardsley House and at the pre-season do in the season we were promoted
to the Premiership we asked John Dennis who was at the bar, what he thought our prospects for the Season were.
His reply was " I don't really know. All I can do is repeat what Danny has told me and that is- we won't go down."

I don't think for a minute that Maurice Lindsay would put pressure on himself or Hecky by saying that " a play-off place
must be our aspiration this time." I would hope that he's simply re-iterating what Hecky and the coaching staff could be saying to him and the Board about our prospects for the upcoming season.

One of our former managers once said that we had no chance of reaching the Premiership ( was it Andy Ritchie) and not
long after he was gone. Even allowing for his outburst after the Rotherham game, there won't be any negativity among the
Coaching staff because that rubs off. As Hecky has said it's no good ranting and raving at them. With patience the good
habits will become second nature and the improvements will hopefully start to show on out the field.

Don't you mean we've sold five bud.? Of the 13 involved at Oakwell South against Millwall in the Play-off final
Brownhill, Isgrove and Fletcher were loans and returned to their parent Clubs and Williams and White ( Sub) were released.
Davies and Hammill are still with us , which means we sold Mawson, Roberts, Hourihane,
Winnowt and Bree ( although the latter didn't play at Wembley) and Mawson and Watkins ( Sub) chose
to leave for free at the end of June. So in total 12 out and 10 in thus far with 4 more yet to come in ( it is alleged).
