Scored the goal, held it up, won free kicks, used his experience, taken off ten minutes into the second half to be replaced by a kid who has no experience of playing up front on his own at this level and unsurprisingly he hardly got a kick. The substitution also limited our ability to change formation and go with two up front without having to bring on our 3rd choice striker who Hecky, for obvious reasons, doesn't rate that highly.

Up there with Bradshaw was Hammill who again used his experience in both attack and defence, made tackles, played some good balls, nothing spectacular but a solid professional performance. Took him off too leaving us with no experience on the pitch and it really showed.

Bring on Barnes and Ugbo by all means, they add pace and energy, but leave the experienced pros on the pitch who will be able to give them the ball.

    Top three layers for me
    Bradshaw
    Hammill
    Hedges

Sums up why we lost for me

At the risk of going all Hemsworth I was completely baffled by today's Substitutions. Bradshaw was my MotM before he got taken off. And when we needed to put 2 up front surely it had to be Bradshaw and Ugbo not Ugbo and Payne

We lost because we squandered a hatful of chances and th n the defenc was asleep second half. The Substitutions didn't help mind

    Baffling substitutions indeed.

Thought all our substitutions today made us weaker.... so what is the point, unless there's someone injured let the first 11 play if you don't have better on the bench..

Agree totally. Would've liked to have seen Ugbo come on alongside Bradshaw. Fairly obvious we can't defend so may as well get at teams.

He went up the tunnel near the dugouts immediately so I wonder if he had a knock at all? But yeah I thought he did really well today, probably his best performance up top on his own I've seen from him.

Hammill and Hedges both looked good too.

Weird to see them all subbed off.

Couldn't agree more, we're hardly going to keep a clean sheet as things stand at the moment, so the only sensible thing to do is to attack. Like we did in the first half.

Bradders always goes straight up the tunnel when he's taken his boots off. Must be one of those who needs a waz or a baz after exercise. Their defender asked "injured" and he shook his head. Looked a bit bemused when he got to the bench TBH.

Not a good substitution in my opinion.

Wins more than his fair share of headers does Tom. What infuriates me is that nobody ever takes a gamble and chases them.
    He played well.

Agree. When you play with 3 in midfield one needs to gamble. Sadly one is busy admiring his hair and tatts, the other is still baffled how he's got to the Championship

I was very impressed with our first half display today, had we gone in 3-0 up no one would've been surprised. Unfortunately, the verve and tenacity was sadly missing in the second half. I was baffled at our substitutions, as all three lads coming off were, in my opinion, our best players.
I was talking to Adam Davies in the car park after the match. It was obvious how down and depressed he was with the result & it was good to hear that all the players were feeling exactly the same.

You've mentioned talking to players in the carpark a few times. I'm just being nosey but two questions for you. How come you tend to be still at the ground so late after the game ends? And which carpark do you see them in? The normal one or the one round the back of the north stand?

If you see George moncur could you have a quiet word please and tell him that I like him but he needs to sort his hair out. he could have it cut and donate it to you maybe?

We are always in the main car park, old mate. We wait until the mad, 'Le Mans' style getaway is completed before we make our way out. Usually by this time we get to see quite a few of the players with their family & friends and get the opportunity for a friendly chat.
I was saying at the match on Tuesday night I fancied getting the same hairstyle as George Moncur, as I feel it would suit me. No one agreed!:D

Get the same tatts too and I think you'd be as effective Kev

    Sorry, more so

Ahh right, I've never noticed that. I did see him shake his head and pull a rather bemused look too though.

It was a strange sub indeed.
