Hopefully, if there's a period of play when we're on top, we can get more than one goal. It'd be a great help to the confidence of the team and fans alike. Bradshaw, for me, has shown a higher level of sharpness in front of goal and a much better all round contribution to the team. If he can produce this on a consistent level, he can have a big part to play for us this season. I was impressed with Hedges, too, going forward yesterday, although he may have to sharpen up defensively. Still very early days yet, so my enthusiasm and optimism is as high as ever.
I thought we played OK mate. But we totally need to stick our chances away. We easily could have 3 or 4 up by half time. A proven goal scorer is so needed.
We may already have one or two on the books. For example, Bradshaw (if he continues with his early season form), Ugbo, McGeehan, Thiam. I accept they're not Championship experienced goalscorers, but then again neither were Hourihane or Winnall this time last year.
Agreed. Jury out regarding Bradshaw. He scored one but should have had more. We cannot afford to miss chances. As Hecky said about Mamadou after the match - he'll be licking his lips after seeing the chances we created. Which means to me - Bradshaw will not be used as the loan striker that he is now.
And we still have Thiam, Isgrove, McGeehan, Fryers and Lindsey to come into the squad. With Stevie Mallan exiled like Moncur was last season I'm hoping he'll come into the squad on Tuesday too. Improved performance something to build on. a result on Tuesday would be a fantastic morale boost.
Mallan exiled ??? What a load of ballax. Hecky is wanting to win. If a player does what Hecky asks him to do and he is better than others in the squad then he will be in the team. Mallan isn't doing that. So why blame the manager FFS !!!
Unless Mallan is about to throw a mardy at not playing and is prepared to knuckle down and work hard, there is no comparison between the two
