Latest player linked, according to Nixon.

You guessed it, a central midfielder.

Villa. Gary Gardner could be off on loan. Barnsley surprise interest. Bit in paper.

Sounds about right we are really struggling for centre midfield
The only villa centre midfielder i would entertain is conor cos he is wasted at villa

Jason Lowe wouldn't be a bad free transfer. Isn't Gardner the one with persistent injury problems?

Gardner on loan would be a great signing.

I'd hazard a guess that we are still looking at central midfielders, because we haven't hit on the right one who is ready for the Championship yet *sarcasm alert*. It also fits into the re-balancing of experience in the squad redarmychris has talked about. That doesn't mean we've wasted our money on the players we've already bought. It took Winnall and Hourihane 18 months to become the finished article.

Anyone we sign that can immediately improve our team is fine by me. We need some points on the board, to improve confidence and help the team settle in.

Experience at CB, CM and Striker can only help right now.

We don't actually have many central midfielders.

We have lots of attacking midfielders, too many.

We've got Williams, Moncur & McGeehan for central midfield with Sessi likely to leave & Bird probably more likely to stay with the 23's for the season.

Mowatt & Mallan aren't playing as central midfielders in all likelihood, not for me anyway

Think we'll see Mallan go out on loan.

Just with Hecky saying we have too many attacking midfielders at the club I think he prefers Moncur, Mowatt and McGeehan so why have a good prospect like Mallan sat in stands when he can go play 30+ games in League 1 where he can build confidence and get used to English football

Sod midfield. Still need a striker and wise defender (who knows this league). Payne out perhaps and a cheeky season loan bid for Forestieeeeeeeeeri.
