if you train your ear you can decipher the message and rebuild it into a legible transmission using the echoes from each other part of the stadium.
So for instance . If i say I heard my half time draw numbers called out on the system they have to pay me.?
The tannoy system has been non existent in the Ponty End, so far. Which makes a mockery of the statement on the official site a few days ago of there being a need for everyone to show an increase in security and safety within the ground this season.
I thought that. It made me laugh the message they put out about following instructions in the event of anything. No-one would hear a thing.
I'm glad you've said that, JamDrop. I thought it was just me having yet another 'Grumpy Old Man' moment.
Nope and without wishing to criticise further (oh ok with wishing to criticise further) I thought that in light of the statement the security and safety was a bit of a joke on Saturday. As I queued and walked through the turnstile there wasn't any stewards on the outside or inside of the turnstile area and the turnstile operator never glanced up from his scanner. I could literally have taken anything into the stadium with me and when inside I saw several people with rucksacks and bags which had all evidently been allowed in unchecked. Once inside the pa system is atrocious and despite the club acting all surprised and rushing to fix it it has been this way for a LONG time. Now I know hat the chances that oakwell will be a target are extremely low and that in all honesty it doesn't affect my experience that much at all it does seem a bit stupid to put out such a statement about how safety and security is paramount when they have allowed the PA system to fall into such disrepair and didn't bother to station any stewards around the stadium to even attempt to prevent somebody taking something dangerous in. I believe I trump you in the grumpy old man stakes
