its been suggested on here at times that a statue should be put up at Oakwell to honour various folk. Rev Preedy Tommy taylor Norman Rimmington to name but three, but in my opinion the Legend that is Patrick Cryne deserves such an accolade.
I personally think one of the stands need dedicating to him. Preferably the West if/when it gets the upgrades that he mentioned he aimed for in his program message last night...
good call CE, No matter what happens Mr Cryne should have some sort of memorial to honour him at Oakwell.
I agree completely with these suggestions. I hadn't seen this thread when I posted about naming a stand after him in another thread.
In years to come, beyond any of our lifetimes I'm sure our future fans will refer to Mr. Cryne as the man who saved our football club and will be considered as the 2nd most important man thst our football club has ever had, behind R. Preedy of course. I hope that in the years to come the club rename the West stand as the Patrick Cryne stand, or even a statue. What Mr. Cryne has done for us all is unbelievable, but it isn't just us he saved. By saving the club he saved people their jobs, people's businesses in the town and around the ground and most importantly he saved our future generations from supporting the Sheffield clubs! I just wish there was something that us, the fans could do for him. We are forever in debt to him and his family. I know you read the forum Mr. Cryne, so from me, my partner and all of my family, id like to say a massive Thank you. You've given us memories that will last a lifetime.
