Has anyone heard of this? I've just joined and it seems a fantastic and quickly growing idea. You can find out more here: https://trade.footballindex.co.uk I've a way where you can have a go at it risk free (not the 7 days money back it offers in the site) if you fancy a go. Drop me a DM for more information if it seems of interest. From their website: Football INDEX is a stockmarket game where players, known as Traders, take a position on the “future success” of footballers with real money. It’s a UK licensed and regulated fixed-odds gambling product. Traders place bets by buying ‘Shares’ associated with Footballers, in the belief that they will: a) Earn Dividends by topping our Buzz Chart or through the Performance Buzz b) Increase in value The bet is innovative in that it provides multiple opportunities to win small payouts known as Dividends for so long as the Footballer remains on the 1st Team list. As there is a fixed payout of GBP 0.05 per Share, the price of the Share determines the odds – the higher the price the shorter the odds. The price of a Share is determined purely by demand within the game. The more Traders buy say Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, the higher the price.
I added £10 last season, bought about 8 Rashfords and a few John Stones. Sold them for £38 at end of season. Not bothered this season
It was new so I had a go. I just forgot about it to be honest. I think I probably got lucky too. The players were really cheap last season so you got quite a bit for a tenner. I did buy some other players too but they dropped off the chart completely. I probably shouldn’t have sold them, not looked what they are worth now.
I tried it during the Euros last summer and lost interest pretty quickly. They kept messing about with the value of shares and after they take their cut off the top, you were barely making anything.
It’s a slow burner. The value of the shares depends on them hitting the headlines, popularity , performance etc The price goes up and down. Not sure what you mean about them taking their cut. The buy and sell price is clear Eg Arron Ramsey at the minute, you buy him for £1.04 and sell him for £1.00 so you only lose 4p. If he scores a few goals his value will go up more than you paid. You sell him for the stated sale value.
Messi's price has doubled in the last 3 months, I've seen people that have turned 1000 shares from £4000 to over £8000 in 3 months. It seems there's a lot to learn and understand but once you work it out there's money to be made.
Not sure what I was doing wrong then because I wasn't getting the sale price for players, as though there was a 5% fee on top. Might have another look but I lose interest in things pretty quickly and the novelty wore off after a month or so.
I put about £20 in 6 months or so ago got £50 in there now (£10 of that is from recommending a friend) made most of my money from Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele . Basically I buy players who will probably be involved in a big transfer so there in the news. Although if I'd just put all my money in Messi from the start I'd have earned a lot more.
