It's just been on calendar, but they'll only be reporting what we've already heard.

According to them, no contact has been made since they were asked for proof of funds.

I find it all very strange bearing in mind the wealth of the interested party.

If it has hit a snag, surely it's got to be something else.

Just announced on ITV Local News ( Calendar) the takeover is on the verge of collapse.!
No confirmation from anyone involved, just saying no contact has been made over the last
two weeks. How they deduce from that the deal is dead we don't know.!

In my opinion if this "rumour" were true, there would have been something in the Chronicle- surely.?
As said previously, keep your eye out for further encouraging developments hopefully next week.!

If and it's a big if! where does this leave the club? Run on a shoestring until we find a buyer? As we are isn't an attractive option if we want to compete. If a wealthy consortium cannot get over the land/stadium issue then who can?

Maybe the deal placing 50% of the assets with the council as a way of safeguarding will have the direct opposite effect.

The fact that no ones denying this story leads me to think that it's true and the deals off. As fans it would be nice to get an answer from someone in the know pretty soon to stop the speculation.

Good point that mate. It's not really news other than news of nothing to report.

Nobodies ever said it was on, only a Hecky slip up in an interview. Chien, Patrick & Alex Jarvis have never commented.

Don't worry it'll be reyt. The reason behind today's reports are comical.

I think it's cos Billy beane went to the QPR match and it was absolute pap. Welcome to the real Barnsley Billy this int the bright lights of American Baseball or the South of France it's beautifully grim sometimes.

In my view, we need to assume that the deal is progressing satisfactorily until such times as one
of the parties involved viz: the Cryne family, Lee/ Conway/ Beane/ Jarvis, BMBC, the EFL and/or their
legal representatives, makes an official announcement to the contrary.

If it is off, to my mind it's not something to gloat/ laugh about we will just have to patiently wait to see
how things develop going forward. As someone has already said, whatever happens, the main thing is that
we still hopefully have a team to support.

That's alright then, continue to be run like a 4th division outfit.

Obviously I really want the takeover to happen; but if there had been no talk whatsoever of it, no-one would be saying ‘where do we go from here’. Nothing would’ve changed

Anyway let’s hope this report is false

Still can't see owt in any of the articles that gives any new insight and the content of all of them could have been gleaned from trawling round this site and putting a journalistic spin on things.

Mike Keegan talks ******** anyway, the last thing I read from him was that Ryan Kent was definitely signing for Middlesbrough!

Both Yorkshire post and mail stories look nearly identical. Copy and paste job. Hope it's not true, Barnsley is grim enough without a struggling football team. This would've given the town a massive lift it desperately needs imho
