Because every time I see us play it at first or u23 level the team never wins.

Heckingbottom thrown away another 2 points.

We are a counter attack team. Sit back, soak up the pressure and hit them with pace.

    Agree totally.
Threw 2 points away against QPR when we went 442 - and lost 2 points against Boro when we went 442.
Although Boro were worth at least a point.
    But - we just can't play 442.
But then again can we play a single striker up front that is 5'2" tall - because I think that's a major problem.

I agree about qpr. Not too sure about today.

That goal was always coming. We were sat back far too deep and constantly defending.

The ball was going up to Bradshaw and coming straight back

We had to do something to change it. It was unfortunate they got the equaliser but we were better with 2 upfront and almost got a winner

Redstar you were right - apart from it being four hours too late.

I think if we'd have stayed 451 we would have lost.

Grief, sorry Mr Hemsworth, but were you at the same match as me?
Thiam when he came on caused their defence all sorts of problems & relieved a lot of pressure at the other end of the pitch.
Yes, the game was stretched, but we looked as likely to go 3-1 as 2-2 at times. A couple of coats of paint less on the post & we might have... Would rather be watching a team that gambles & as a result entertains, than one that shuts up shop. Our players are too naive & inexperienced to close a game out that way anyway, as Hecky recognises. F-ING PROUD OF MY TEAM.

Got to agree. Any idea how many points we've thrown away from a winning position today? Couldn't hold on twice today, once against Wolves and once against QPR and that's only the last couple of matches at that.

Did we throw points away at wolves by going 442??

I don't reply to the waste of snap but I'll reply to you...something had to be changed as Boro had too much possession and we couldn't keep it. In any case, that goal could have been scored regardless of formation; a combination of a great pass, defenders out of position and poor goalkeeping not to mention s good finish.

In summary, going to 442 didn't cost us anything and actually allowed us to create more.

Not surprised. Wish I had been wrong.

He's a total waste of snap.

    This.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. If we'd stayed 451 today we'd have got beat for certain. The ball just kept coming back at us until Thiam came on and made us a threat.....

We've got a point against a team who were better than us all over the park, we were more of a threat having been under the cosh when we went 2 up front. Nothing to criticise today from what I watched.

Whats Thiam got to do with changing formation? Really what? We went with Thiam against Millwall in the second half for about 20 minutes. we created more at the new Den than today. he tore them apart.

Today was all about fustration. You get in front in the first half and that's job done really. Just defend, man the space and defend from the centre. The 433 really worked for us today because Williams gets in the gap between the defence and midfield. The central defenders and often Pearson today only had to think about behind him. Take that extra man off and we are in the ****. Them defenders lose the protection in front of them.

You don't have to be up for a role for Nasa to see this. The goal. Ball played into Downing, the 2 in midfield are now ahead of the ball. Jackson comes short to close down and he plays in for the most simple assist of his career to date. Britt will be laughing all way to the bank.

I watch the highlights back and I can't really remember them having a great deal of joy against us for 60 minutes. The words that come out of my mouth was when it said Thiam on for Potts was oh no. I turned to my right and said to the lady next of me that's not good, qpr all over again.

These players aren't babies. They did okay at the New Den. They actually seemed to like the hostile crowd.

This. But then you don't have a vendetta to perpetuate because you have to hate what is loved by others

Until recently we were a league one team
Until recently they were a premier league team
Consider both budgets and wage bills right
    now.
    We didn't lose.
    It's Saturday.
    Enjoy yourself and smile.
