I can't believe ITV binned off double Coronation Street for that. But on the plus side, if Corbyn can actually **** up his own arse, he'll have won a few votes with that revelation.
So you dislike someone systematically destroy your service over someone who wants to save it? Rightio
Voting for Corbyn is like voting for the chap in your avatar. Yes his health service was good by the standards of the Caribbean but does anyone want to live in a dictatorship with a secret police, no internet and gays put in concentration camps?
So, are you saying Corbyn would put Gays in concentration camps, have secret police and shut the internet down?
Every labour MP and millions of people want a better deal for the nhs so no need to single corbyn out really. I like many of his colleagues but not jeremy. Things have been tough for about 18 months with short staffing, but i hold our management as equally culpable for allowing this to happen (one in particular is a rabid corbynite, oh the irony). Now we have too many staff, people are having to put annual leave in to avoid being moved wards, you walk through the door not knowing where you will be working. Ok.
Interesting you say every Labour MP. Before Corbyn dared utter Socialism again plenty “Labour” MP’s would have been happy to let the privatisation continue. So it’s kind of why he’s singled out.
What do you mean by 'privatisation?' Around 50% of our mental health patients are currently housed in private hospitals and have been for donkey's years. They are not private patients however they are still nhs patients who we pay for through taxation. This would be the case if and when new private general hospitals are built. The patients will still be nhs patients paid for by us all but receiving care in a private hospital.
Possibly the oddest post I've ever seen on here. And there's been a helluva lot of competition over the years....
Right I will now tell you a story. It is the story of my own personal battle against those who were charged with the deliberate under-staffing of the wards at the hospital i work in. In January last year things changed dramatically. Things weren't too bad overall before then. It was pretty evident that the hospital manager and ward managers had had a 'secret' dictat stating we need to save money on staffing. Thereafter things became dangerous. Every ward across the hospital faced crisis on a daily basis. Patients needs and safety were mightily compromised on a daily basis. Incidence of self-harming behaviours and assault increased significantly as a consequence of under-staffing. There was a marked increase in staff sickness. So i tried to do something about this. I initially went to a senior manager within the hospital to express my concerns. I spoke with him and referenced the Francis Report as part of my argument: he laughed and stated "you don't think that will make any difference do you?! So my first port of call proved utterly fruitless, disturbing and demoralising. From january to march i had kept a file of documentary evidence including dangerous under-staffing and subsequent patient incidence if violence, self harm and failure to facilitate off ward leave. With this in hand i made the decision to take my concerns to trust executive level. My first meeting appeared productive and was called to another with another more senior executive. I was promised my documented concerns would be investigated and they would get back to me to arrange a follow up meeting. Guess what? I was moved to pastures new almost immediately and never heard from them again. All my colleagues were struggling through this period yet none were prepared to put their head over the parapet. Rock the boat and you will not move forwards. I implored them to do so but no takers. There is definitely a culture of fear, a fear of speaking out. There is a rotten, stinking culture of self-preservation and croneyism among the hierarchy of this hospital. As i mentioned in another post one of the managers who consistently refused to sanction appropriate and safe staffing ("deal with it" his favoured expression) was around this period filling his pages on facebook on a daily basis with pro -Corbyn propaganda. I challenged him about this contradiction on there and he blocked me: we never spoke again and now he has retired. I can guarantee you that he will, like all the others turn up again in a cushy little made -up part -time position: rotten to the core. However, this 'battle' i had ultimately had a significant impact on my mental health, leading to a period off sick with work related stress. This tale is just a small part of everything that actually went on. But strangely things have improved significantly over the last 2 months with many newly qualified staff starting work at the trust. So yes I am a principled nurse but i don't like corbyn. Think i've earned the right to choose my personal preference without being attacked by those who have no idea about me nor the day to day reality of working within the nhs.
Firstly, no one is “attacking” you. You made a statement on an open forum and it was questioned. All I can say is a Corbyn led Labour Government would be more likely to solve these issues and privatisation won’t fix it.
Of course it would for he is a socialist just like me and a socialist gvt would offer us greater protection.... I'ts not all about corbyn though is it? Hate this focus on individuals, this awful cult of personality. Beware the cult of personality.
"So, are you saying Corbyn would put Gays in concentration camps, have secret police and shut the internet down?" God knows, nutty things go on under Communism. I doubt a man who failed his A Levels is going to be the first in history to make it work though.
