As already mentioned elsewhere, Adam Davies is still waiting to make his intnational debut as he was on the bench for Wales' crucial win over Austria tonight
Round-up of tonight's international action for Reds: Adam Davies was an unused substitute in Wales' 2-0 win over Moldova Stevie Mallan played the full game and got a goal, an assist and a yellow card in Scotland U21s' win over the Netherlands; Oli McBurnie was an unused substitute in the same game
England U20 played their latest game in the U20 Elite Tournament this afternoon. It was a comprehensive 5-1 win over Italy for the Young Lions and another impressive performance. Iké Ugbo started and scored England's 5th goal - a penalty; Harvey Barnes also played, coming on as an 80th minute substitute
Tonight Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Hedges were unused substitutes for Wales as they won 1-0 against Georgia to boost their qualifying hopes Stevie Mallan started and played 81 minutes as Scotland U21 lost 1-3 to England U21. I managed to watch the game on TV and thought Mallan had a decent game overall: good range of passing and was involved in he build up to Scotland's goal. Wasn't afraid to shoot and had a good opportunity with his head. Was unfortunate to be brought off
Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Hedges again couldn't get off the bench as Wales failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing 0-1 at home to the Republic of Ireland
They won’t get a game for Wales until they move to a bigger club than us. Sam Vokes & Robson Kanu are average players that get in just because they play for Premier League clubs.
Yeah I know lots of national teams seem to be unwilling to give other players a chance. That’s why in a way I’m glad Wales haven’t got into the play-offs because at least they and perhaps Davies would have a chance of playing in some friendlies next month
Couldn't work out why Bradshaw wasn't given the last 10 minutes when needing to score. Robson-Kanu is the biggest fraud in football.
Final involvement for our players in this international break: England U20s got another big win today in their U20 Elite Tournament, beating Czech Republic 4-0. Harvey Barnes played the full game and got himself a goal; Iké Ugbo was an unused substitute on this occasion Stevie Mallan was also an unused substitute as Scotland U21 beat Latvia U21 2-0; Ollie McBurnie (who?!) was amongst the scorers
Because he doesn’t play for a so called big team. Like England most players picked on reputation not form.
Tonight still no football for Bradshaw and Hedges (surprise, surprise) in Wales' 0-2 loss to France Stevie Mallan also played 90 minutes for Scotland U21s as they scraped a 1-1 draw against Latvia U21 in their European Qualifier
If they don’t feature in the next game against Panama I think that will say a lot about their futures under Chris Coleman.
Busy night of international action for the Reds with all 5 of our players involved: England U20 lost 1-2 to Germany but Harvey Barnes scored another impressive goal, continuing his great form with us. Not sure how long he played, nor if Ugbo played as of yet Another 90 minutes for Stevie Mallan but another disappointing result for Scotland U21 who lost 0-2 to Ukraine at McDiarmid Park And a great night for Tom Bradshaw, who was a half-time substitute; and Ryan Hedges, a 71st minute sub making his international debut (along with Marley Watkins) for Wales in their 1-1 draw with Panama
Hedges did well. Bradshaw didn’t really have any chances but could have perhaps had a penalty but he doesn’t get fouls given committed on him unless it’s actually grievous bodily harm.
