Does anyone on the forum get energy, phone/broadband, etc from this company. Looking to switch to a better deal now tie in period is up with existing suppliers and used uSwitch for prices. Work colleague has suggested UW, not familiar with them. Apparently so a pre-load discount payment card too which I think is like a cashback thing. Any experiences with them out there?

No idea sorry, but if you do switch through uswitch, click through Quidco first as they'll give you £30 cashback. It's not loads but you may as well have it for sake of a click.

Edit: just done some quick reading up on it. My first impressions say be very careful. It's a marketing company which means that people are trying to make others join up and get kickbacks for doing so. It like the million 'Younique' or 'Herbalife' sellers springing up everywhere but it's the energy equivalent of a just legal pyramid scheme. I know you could just join for the energy and not bother with that side of it but it would make me question the recommendation. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole personally.

They’re essentially a utilities pyramid scheme.

    Avoid.

Try bulb, I’ve just signed up after a year with white rose energy.

I used to work for e.on (powergen as was), I used to recommend staying with the bigger boys as the smaller companies were flaky but not these days, and the smaller ones can be much cheaper.

If you do switch to bulb, use the below link. We will both get a £50 account credit if so. Same applies to anyone on here, they are likely to be cheaper than a lot of your current deals unless you’ve got a good fixed price.

Do yourself a quote to make sure it’s cheaper though, it is actually a little more than I was paying, but my 12 month fix was up and these are as cheap as anyone else at current rates, much cheaper than any of the big six (soon to be five when nPower and SSE merge).

Chris has given you £50 of FREE renewable energy. To claim your free gift, sign up using this link: https://bulb.co.uk/refer/chris6155

That's my gut feeling from what I've read myself so far. Their utility tariffs aren't too bad but seems to be a lot of peripheral baggage and "potential" savings. Appreciate your feedback JamDrop, cheers.

Yes, I hate them, just hate them.

You don't have to do any of that selling stuff. I don't even get any blurb about it, only reason I know about that side of things is a friend of mine has done it. I hate them because it took over 6 weeks to get broadband set-up after joining and they still haven't taken over my electricity after signing up in March ,which means I'm paying way over the odds because I can't get dual fuel discount or a proper contract for the leccy. They're ******* useless, absolutely useless.

It's one of these cult-like pyramid schemes, lass I know tried to get me to sign up. I looked at everything very objectively and I'd have ended up paying more, and for gas and electric I'm with British Gas so not exactly the cheapest to start with.

We used to be with UW....the gas electric were a tad cheaper..the telephone and broadband package was ok too...that said...when ever anything went wrong ..it took days to get any one out to deal with it..We once went almost 7days before we got an engineer out to sort the broadband out..who came to the conclusion the box had burned its self out followed by another 3 day wait for a box...then we got a telephone call and the engineer on the other side of the phone talked the wife through the procedure of how to install it all through the computer....Service was total garbage ....first opportunity we got rid and went back to British Gas and BT...yes we pay more but the service is second to non...

We've been with UW for over a year now with the full package from them. We have no complaints against them - cheap(ish) power and good broadband n landline. Did everything they said they would do on time with no fuss and replaced all our house lightbulbs with LED ones for free - and free replacements anall.

For gas & leccy I'm with First Utility - they keep offering me broadband alternatives too.

Can't fault their pricing and customer service - all done online. Compared to Npower, British Gas, EoN etc - they **** all over them.

Thanks for the advice but I hardly use anything and I get free electric on Sundays with BG which probably more than offsets any savings as that's when I do my washing and have the tumble dryer on all day.

Hi mate, tried PM to you but don't think permissions allow it. Just to let you know I've used your link to switch supplier so you should see a £50 referral fee at some point. Cheers.
