Please provide a list of results between 23rd of October 2012 and 15th December 2012 (inclusive). Please also provide the name of the manager at that time.

    8 days counting backwards?
23rd October Barnsley 1-1 Crystal Palace
20th October Charlton Athletic 0-1 Barnsley

Tidy 4 points with old Hill at the helm

On another note I wish I could be so important that half thinking out a couple of sentences for a reaction resulted in 5 pages written about me and a few further spin off threads about me.

This obsession some people have with him is more nauseating than his threads.

When somebody makes up lies to slag off the manager they deserve calling out on those lies in order to set the record straight.

West Yorkshire based. 60 odd year old. Rarely posts about Barnsley FC. Has history for posting just to defend hemsworth tyke.

Super Tyke makes a valid point but we all already know that HT lies to prove a point, so it’s not really required. Just gives him more airtime.

But to answer the question, as Phil won’t, the point here is that he claimed in 120 years of existence (it’s actually 130 Phil, shoes and socks off to add up next time), no other manager had gone ten games without a win. Which is ********.

As recently as five seasons ago, as mentioned by Supertyke, the period above encompassed 11 games, no wins, 4 draws and 7 defeats under Keith Hill. And looking at that squad, including COG, Steve Foster, Hassell, John Stones, Craig Davies, Marlon Harewood, Marcus Tudgay, Luke Steele, Martin Cranie, even Jacob Mellis - which was the biggest underachievement?

Oh and just in case anyone thinks that was somehow a magnificent oversight on lyingtykes part and he simply missed a season. I'd like to point out that we went on an 11 game winless run under Steele too in the 60s and they are the only two managers who I bothered to check

    Edit I've checked them all:
Keith hill 11 game winless run 2012
mark robins 12 game winless run in 2010
11 game winless run in 2004
10 game winless run in 1984
Allan Clarke 10 game winless run in 1986
Jim Iley 10 game winless run 1975
Johnny Steele 10 game winless run 72/73 Christmas period
John McSeveney 11 game winless run 71/72 Christmas period
John McSeveney 10 game winless run in 1971 (part of a 13 game winless run with Steele managing the first 3 and McSeveney the last 10)
Johnny Steele 10 game winless run 66/67 Christmas period
Johnny Steele 11 game winless run in 1965
Johnny Steele 11 game winless run in 1964
Tim ward 16 game winless run in 1959
Tim ward 10 game winless run in 1958
Angus seed/Tim ward 21 game winless run in 1953
Angus seed 11 game winless run in 1949
Arthur Fairclough 10 game winless run in 1928
Peter Sant 10 game winless run in 1920
Arthur Fairclough 11 game winless run in 1900
Arthur Fairclough 15 game winless run in 1899

    Finally finished the list.
Prior to Hecky we have had 30 managers who have been in charge for more than 10 games (bit hard to clock 10 winless games if you don't manage for that long). 10 out of 30 have taken us on a 10 game (or longer) winless run. That is 1 in 3 of all managers in the history of the club.
Add to that the 10 game winless run that hunter and Collins took us on between them and the 11 game winless run that Thordarson and Hart did between them and it is 14 out of 30 managers in 20 separate winless runs of 10 games or more with the longest being a 21 game winless run

We may be 130 years old but I can only find records for 110 of those meaning that historically we go on a 10 game winless run once every 5.5 years and every 3 managers.

Hardly the only time in our history

:D This is what I like about you. I thought I was the only person who’s sad enough to go to this amount of effort about something.

Oh I'm definitely in the sad enough camp. Took me bloody ages to trawl through every result in our history too.

I don't mind people having a go at hecky for his team selection or his tactics but to completely make something up to use against him is wrong imo. It's something I'd expect from Donald trump not a supposed Barnsley fan.
