Don’t expect to see him in today’s squad.

He’s not good enough yet for Leicester’s squad imo
He’s second behind Isgrove at Well imo
I think they could be doing what Chelsea did with Issy Brown ie taking him out of a struggling side and finding him a side Challenging to improve him imo

Not bothered - overrated - prefer Isgrove/Hammill anyday.

Your eyes painted on? Head and shoulders above Hammill.

Yeah it’s great losing a match winning player isn’t it.

More goals and assists than most of them put together this season.

Both are good players but for me hammill has a little bit of extra spark and desire that Barnes (and the rest of the squad) don't have.
A lot of people comment on a wasted cross from hammill but how many notice that Barnes on the other wing hasn't wasted any because he hasn't tried any? That's not a dig at Barnes it's a praise for hammill. He creates opportunities for himself. Might not always come off, in fact more often than not they don't, but at least he is creating them. Far too often on the other wing and in the middle players are waiting for opportunities to appear. Hammill is making them appear

Shows flashes of brilliance in an average team. That said, there’s a lot of games when you wouldn’t even know he wasn’t on the pitch. Best of luck to him, but he’s not ready for the Premier League, just yet.

Never good to lose a player but it is something the club should have been planning for since August as they knew if he was any good he was going back and if he wasn't any good he would need replacing anyway.

Be a shame to lose our best winger. He'd be in my top 3 of the season so far with Bradshaw and Lindsay.

Harvey has shown some brilliance this year but, as with a lot of wingers, he goes missing for prolonged periods of games.

He’s not ready for the premier league yet but I think in a couple of years he could be a regular in a premier league side.

I wonder if we’ll replace him with another premier league loanee or go out and buy one?

Whatever people think about Barnes there’s no doubt not having him today and having no replacement weakens us. This is our biggest game of the season so far it’s a big blow.

It’s a chance for someone else to step up and show us what they can do is how I choose to look at it. No point worrying about what we don’t have.

Not how i see it. Thought Hammil was decent last match but his end product this season has been atrocious. Has he even got a goal or assist this season? Barnes on the other hand has provided goals and assists which has got us points. Sometimes out of nothing. Big miss. Needs replacing immediately.

Harsh on Hammill with the assists. He was quality for the first two months of the season & should have numerous assists with some of the crosses he put in. He should also have an assist from the Reading game that Barnes somehow put wide.

Barnes definitely needs replacing ASAP. Only got 2 wingers with Hedges our injured

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Barnes recalled, assessed at Leicester and then loaned back out to a team that isn’t in the midst of a relegation scrap.

The way I see it is Hammill’s been pretty consistent 6 out of 10 when he’s played this season where as Barnes’ form is inconsistent, he’s given us some 8 out of 10 performances with some moments of brilliance but he’s had some shockers as well, where he’d be about a 4 out of 10 at best. I guess that’s what you tend to get with young players

Maybe chances created would be a more appropriate stat then assists then, but still doubt hammill would top that table either. That aside Barnes had scored important goals. Has hammill even scored a goal? Think part of the problem may be heckys insistance on playing him on the right. So much more effective when cutting it. Was shocked to him on the right and isgrove on the leff against Preston considering they were so good on the opposite flanks during the promotion season.
