Not bothered about him being big imo just to keep the ball more than one and a half seconds while the backup arrives we may also have to work on the backup as well imo

Exactly doesn't need to a 6ft 4 giant. But just someone who can hold the ball up.

Have a look on owlstalk and see what they think of him.
Another footballer at this level who played his best football quite a few seasons ago. Derby fans will agree with this too.
So we need someone like butterballs but like butterballs was 5 years ago.

In the summer we did buy experience, at lower levels of course. The problem is the squad was left unbalanced due to not signing Oli McBurnie. We need some on-field leadership that Angus has failed to provide, some sort of presence up front, and winger with final product to provide competition (replace) AH. It’ll come together then. We are already too heavy in centre mid so would probably have to sell/dispose of Mowatt or Moncur before buying there.

No we didn't everyone we signed was under 24 weren't they? That's not experience in my eyes.

Potts, Mallan, McGeehan have about 450 professional league games between them. More than hourihane/brownhill/scowen had. It’s not at this level but still experience. It’s not that which is lacking, it’s leadership and quality up front.

And 2 of those have barley featured at all. So where is the experience on the pitch? Agree we lack leadership which is probably the same issue.

Agree it’s a similar issue, plenty of experience on that pitch yesterday though, Adam, Bradshaw. Gardener has missed a lot with injury but had played for half a dozen clubs in 8 years as a professional. I think Yids played 4 full seasons at Barnet and at least another 40 games for us. But yet there was no leadership. It’s a difficult one, why I would like the idea of signing Nugent if he wasn’t past it and ruinously expensive. Some existing players, Angus comes to mind, really need to shape up as well as buying in new players.

I share your dislike of the type of football we are playing, but we are now a long way away from anything better. Sometimes you just have to keep swallowing hard.

I do not think its a case of we cannot compete with them , I think no matter how wealthy we might be , we are portrayed by the media as unfashionable & I think that comes into play but I think such as Jerome might be more attracted to a promotion push with such as Cardiff , as to a relegation battle with us .
