I think he's a good championship keeper , he lacks decisiveness sometimes but all in all hes pretty good and will only get better .

I agree with you , but I have said it before if an outfield player makes a mistake then there is a chance he will get away with it , when a goalkeeper makes a mistake he usually gets punished & if people think that we can sign a better keeper to play at this level then they are going to be disappointed , better keepers play in the premier league & even some of them are guilty of bloomers, what I find disappointing is that some fans will not cut him any slack , they jump on his every mistake

Agreed, we've not got enough dosh to replace him and leave us short in other areas.

Müller was 29 when he signed for us, and I do think he was fantastic.. but I think you can only really get that decisiveness and command of the area having been in that situation so often and having played so many games..

Perhaps why keepers like Cech, Buffon, casias, Given and Van Der Sar all seemed to get better and grow into that leadership role.

Give Davo another 4 years and he’ll be commanding the box like Müller, and probably better. Fine keeper who’s shown character and resilience in breaking a bit of bad form

You may very well have a good point there...but do you want to wait 4 years? Yes, if there is no sensible value for money option but with the takeover maybe that's no longer the case.

Why because he kept a clean sheet against Sunderland? He's been shocking for a long time and one game and the happy clappers claiming to know best won't change that.

He’s blatantly trolling with this post.

Claims Davies was excellent but Fryers deserves no credit despite being part of the clean sheet and getting the assist.

Davies also in no mans land when McCarthy saved us but that’s been ignored.

Why are people who have an opposing opinion to you classed as happy clappers ? Everyone is entitled to an opinion without being insulted

Remember Heinz making a massive error trying to punch a cross and missed it away at Watford and a couple of errors in a game against Ipswich. Way some talk on here he never made mistakes all keepers do. We have a good keeper in Davies. Not perfect but none are.

Davies is a very good goalkeeper - I don't think I've seen many better performances ever, than, for example, the clean sheet he kept in the 0-0 draw at Leyton Orient just after LJ joined us. He has been very good for the majority of his time with us.

His form has dipped a little at times this season and that's why I wish we had an experienced back-up that Hecky could trust to bring in periodically to give Davies a spell and get him back to his brilliant best.

However, some of the vitriol he has had imo is not justified and I see him being a top keeper for us for a number of years to come.

What I don't get is the 'fans' who go to games with pre-set agendas and get on players' backs from the off. Sure, there are players who I don't rate, Moncur, Ugbo and the like but when they play they start every game for me with a clean sheet, I'll get 100% behind them and judge them after the game based on what I've actually seen and how they contribute to the team.

There was a bloke sat a few rows in front of us yesterday (voice like Sean Dyche!) who was at Davies from the off, before he'd even touched the ball, let alone done anything right or wrong. He was having a go at Davies all game to come for balls that even a kamikaze pilot wouldn't have dreamed of launching at. One aimless long ball in the second half that went over Fryers, went out with absolutely no danger for a goal-kick half way between the penalty area line and the touchline and the bloke was apoplectic that Davies hadn't come, ******* mental.

So its ok for you to claim to know best, but not other people with a different opinion to you? Give over.

I'm just chuffed we got that winless run monkey off our back. Our third clean sheet in five games is also a big plus, with ALL the members of our defensive unit making a positive contribution.

Do you mean when McCarthy saved us but the referee had already blown for a free kick?
