Perhaps a realistic signing on loan Not getting game time at boro - if we offer to part pay his wages could work for all parties and allow them to get someone else in. We should also try and purchase Josh Scowen. Should never have let him leave.
As amazing as that would be, just can't see it. Guessing he'll comfortably be on 30k/week, and I very much doubt we'll go above 10. That's a lot of money we're asking Boro to pay, to go to a Club in the same league. Can't see it.
I'd love to have Fletcher here. I think he could be a fine player and it's already been established how highly he regards us. Unfortunately I don't think the timing is right. At the current stage we can't afford his wages. Hopefully in a few years we'll be able to. Plus I'm not sure he's the plug and play striker we need.
Definitely not imho. He’s too much of a work in progress for where we’re at. Plus I’d bet his confidence is a bit shot based on the last couple of years.
I would much sooner go for Cameron Jerome who is available, but I would love Fletcher back some time in the future, but in the short term I think we would benefit from some experience
Don't see it as worthwhile. It would only be a loan due to wages and he has played very little for last 18 months.
Nothing that a run of matches wouldn't solve. It's not like he's been out with a serious injury or anything. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.
No more loans, unless they coming from Nice, where hopefully the rug won't be pulled from under us. Barnes & Williams are the only two decent ones we have had this season & one of those has been taken. Short term thinking needs to stop now. I can understand why it was done at the start of the season, with takeover talks going on, not a criticism, but we should move to being masters of our own destiny, as much as any small club can.
I thought Josh wanted to move back down south. That might be as big a stumbling block as wages. Plus would QPR sell? Obviously we could have solved this problem a while back by offering him a half decent contract, but hey ho....
Yeah I wouldn't want him back anyway. West Ham did excellent business when they got shut of him. He's wasted the last few years of his career development. He can't seem to settle anywhere and those that want him back only want him because of nostalgia. I doubt he's really improved much as a player since leaving us, as for whatever reason he never earns a run of games. If it was a player without a Barnsley past and we were going to sign a guy who played well for half a season in the league below, a few seasons ago and done very little since at two different clubs, few would be happy.
