A permanent deal on Williams would be nice too. But what I hope the most is that we do not drag our arses again as we usually do in the transfer windows.
Me too, but didn't Hecky say he wasn't expecting to do much business early? Unsure if that's just him setting expectations or is waiting to see what happens and who looks to be available towards the middle/ end of the window.
Got to be some in before Saturday. It's not like the January window has sneaked up on us is it. We've known of its existence for a few years now and known of our desperate need for players since the summer when even hecky admitted we hadn't signed enough. With that length of time to plan we MUST have plans in place to move quickly. Anything else would frankly be negligent
I agree with you almost totally. I am not worried about getting new faces in for this Saturday for the cup game, but hopefully we will do so before the next league game Vs Wolves a week satdi
Agreed on the quality over quantity. Also on the urgency to get players in earlier rather than later. However. Just because we want to move early and probably have targets identified we are, as always, dependent on the player and selling club being willing to move early rather than hang on to see what other options/ offers are available. Hopefully we now have a little more financial muscle but it's still going to be tough getting deals done.
The window is open for 1 month. We are desperate to improve the squad as we are locked in a relegation battle. We have known we need to improve the squad since the summer and have known the main positions of weaknesses since then too. Hecky said as such back in august. Of course we need new faces and quickly.
Like I said. We knew we wanted McBurnie for weeks. The problem was Swansea's unwillingness to release him until the last minute. Being ready to do business early on our part isn't even half the battle.
I'm sure we have. However, I doubt we'll have a boatload of them. The target group is going to be limited by what we are looking for and what we can offer.
Liverpool have recalled Ryan Kent from his loan at SC Freiburg due to the lack of game time ( seven games only). Should we look at bringing him back until the end of the season.?
We can identify 20 targets but if the selling clubs won't let the player go until they have a replacement in what can we do?
Appreciate that you want Winstanley and Howard back but they are probably a little past their best now.
You are wanting action in the transfer market on the 2nd of jan , bearing in mind that we were at Sunderland on the ist of jan playing a match , all the staff , manager , chief executive etc will have been working the whole holiday period & surely this would effect early activity but despite this , it has been widely reported that we have been active already by trying to sign Williams . We have a cup match this saturday which is important but for us it is all about the league which buys us some time in the transfer market , but if you think it is so easy to get deals over the line at this time of the year , then you are mistaken , be sure, the reds will be active this month but fans must be patient & it beggers belief that fans are already sharpening their knives , please give Hecky & the club time to get the right players in & not panic signings because of fan pressure
