52 will be more than enough. Since Leicester went down on 52 ten seasons ago, only once has 52 not been enough to stay up - the crazy season Peterborough went down on 54 when both we and them had hit promotion form for the whole second half of the season. That was an exception. Looking at the current standings well past halfway, I’d be surprised if fourth bottom will need much more than 48 points this season. On the current points per game it would only be 42, though there will likely be some improvement. Not to 52 I doubt - 50 will more than suffice I think.
