To be fair HT , should you not judge whether a signing has been a success or not until after a period of time ? Surely every player & manager deserves time & should not be pre judged , up to a month ago people might have said that Pinnock was a poor signing , but I doubt anyone is saying that now . I think that writing a player off before he has kicked a ball is very poor & the player in question deserves some respect , the fullness of time will be the proof whether he has been a good signing or not

You need a new car, but You are told you can choose from a Ford Ka and Kia picanto. You explain that these car don't exactly fit your needs. You are told that unfortunately these are the options. But don't worry you have the final say.

I'd say we're recruiting him based on the fact he's scored 15 goals already this season

Have we based this 10k on the word of a chairman that’s renowned for taking the mick?

I would take no notice of what he says , Barnsley are not Peterboro"s favourite club & he will not miss an opportunity to have a dig at us , the trouble is , some will believe him & if the lad has a sticky patch , there will be plenty quick to mention his alleged earnings & use it has a stick to beat him

It doesn’t work like that at every club at all.

Honestly if you think that you’re kidding yourself about how football works.

Many clubs live in the dark ages & it’s the signing of mates or players from the same agents like we had with Flitcroft here.

A great example is Sunderland, next to no scouting there, an absolute shambles, spent years signing past it / flops from Man Utd & then done the exact same with Everton players.

Even Wolves currently it’s Mourinho’s mate the super agent doing most of the recruitment.

Hecky has an input on who we sign but he’s given a small pool of players to choose from & he has little input on who’s in that pool of players. He’s made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the summers recruitment.

There’s no way a manager who’s preferred system is 4-4-2 would’ve wanted to go with our squad & we know that as he’s said repeatedly we’ve got too many attacking midfielders & not enough strikers.

I feel like you’re deliberately pretending Hecky does make all the signings to suit your agenda against him as many of the players haven’t come good yet.

If in a years time most are doing well & fulfilling their potential will you credit Hecky for signing them or will you change your tune? I’ll

Possibly do, but there's plenty of strikers out there with one good goalscoring run to their name. Let's hope he can make the step up.

Not bad some of those Picanto's though - Roberts, Winnall, Mawson, Scowen, Watkins etc. Not so keen on some of the Ka's we've had.

Getting a bit rife an analogy like this on here. Thats been done to death about him choosing players from the spreadsheet. What about him going with a player and the board telling him whether or not it fits in with the spreadsheet? How many interviews have we heard him say he's interested in a player or would be? Not necessarily on our spreadsheet.

I don't know how many? He never really mentions players directly in the interviews I've heard? The honest answer is none of us know really, especially now as it's a new regime. Who themselves might change how they do business over time.
Let's say we are in for Moore at Ipswich, maybe the alternatives are league 2 players and u23 prem players. So if the list looked like that then he would be the best option available?

Is exciting beating Peterborough, Bradford and Charlton to a signing.

Just chill on it mate. Wait and see. I keep saying before Wolves. Sure they’ll be spread throughout the window we’ll find out.

I would have thought that this signing (if it happens) is part of a plan to give the coach/manager more options. He certainly sounds to be a different type of striker to the ones we currently have. Not sure why there is any negativity to be honest as having someone who might be able to get on the end of crosses is something we've been crying out for (or at least I have).

That’s not what I said. Will always welcome every new signing to the club and hope they do well.

What I wouldn’t do is create a thread with absolutely no substance indicating some kind of amazing signings happening “if we can pull them off”....

One of them is a bloke who’s never scored at this level. Who no other clubs at our level were bidding for.

    Something doesn’t add up....
