Oh yes, imagine the tirade against modern day spoilt footballers if that happened this season...

We need a bit of proven championship quality. This lad doesn't have it. For someone who turned 25 in August he doesn't have much on his cv status all. Let's hope the three months at Rotherham were a turning point and not a flash in the pan.

Same age as Winnall who had no championship experience prior to last season. Would you consider him a championship striker ?

Phil, you're writing him off before he's even kicked a ball for us. No manager has a 100% success rate with transfers, not even Sir Alex or Pep. We all speculate on how much input Hecky has with transfers, none of us know exactly but the evidence suggests that he doesn't have things his own way so can he really be held accountable?

Maybe but surely the middle ground maybe the best, welcome the player and form judgment after he’s played.

How can anyone give an opinion on a player they have not seen in a Barnsley shirt be he good or bad at the club he as just left you just have to wait and see and thats after a good number of games, and then comment on the player, a lot of bbs posters like to give verdicts before the fact.

He did, old mate, yes. But the opposition was Hartlepool United (with Martin Gorry in their line up) who we beat 5-2. We played Torquay United the season after in the third round (the first time we'd reached it since 1970) 2-1. Derrick Parker got both our goals, after Les Lawrence had put United in front in the first few minutes.

He's got more than most Mario. People talk about the recruitment like it's a mystery. It's not. I saw one person the other day suggest no other teams using the same model. Amazing. Clearly not heard of Brentford Football Club or Southampton Football club.

Of course, he's accountable for the actions of the first team recruitment. I'm more than okay with giving people time, I watch the youth teams play but when there bad, there bad. I don't see one good player like I said the other day that he's brought in. Little return on these players.

Seems so far away when we had a coach in that could bring in Fletcher Mawson Brownhill. The next could be Simon Eastwood. And he's a similar mould to Moore.

Chill out, relax, and let's wait and see how the lad does for us.
And while we're all waiting, lets all listen to some waiting music...
    All together...deep breaths... waiting...

Why do you have to call him K Moore? Such a childish way to try and belittle someone.
Given your drooling over Ugbo I'd suggest we should all take your opinions on strikers with the same huge pinch of salt we do on everything else you say about football.

FA Cup 1st Round against Hartlepool. There were over 12000 there as I remember and a cracking atmosphere.

Yup. Normally, throughout the 1970's, Hartlepool's away following wouldn't fill a Reliant Robin. But that day, they brought about a 1000 fans down.

He is definitely better than Michael Smith, who I always thought was a bit of a blunderbuss before we got him. This guy has the height we need to win headers from crosses into the box - just need to polish the quality of crosses - but he also has quick and deft feet if you watch some of his goals for Rotherham. If he comes as good as he could, he will be a key type of player we have been missing. Hope it works out and he bth scores and makes the goals we need to stay up. A tall order, but he could be the guy to do it.

That was the opening league game of the 1980/81 season, Dave. We were home to Portsmouth and lost 2-1. Parker got our goal.
