Think that's it mate. Plenty of Yorkshire based films made not too far away in Sheffield, Wakefield, Halifax, Leeds, Bradford etc but can't think of anything else in Tarn.. As an aside, David (Dai) Bradley from Kes appeared in the Flaxton Boys.
I've mentioned this before, but one of the characters in the Preacher comics used to ply his trade behind Barnsley Town Hall. He is yet to make the TV series though.
Not a film but something l didn't know. The scene on Phoenix nights where the turn brings on the pissed up horse "Get it a kebab" came about because of a show Peter Kay did at Tankersley Manor and a bloke named Gerard Naprous brought on a real horse. He stole the line from that night and used it in the episode "There's a horse in the Sutcliffe Suite".
The writer of spinal tap went on the road with Saxon for a week and supposedly used some their antics as inspiration for the movie.
There was a film with Robert Lindsay and Robbie Coltrane filmed in Barnsley and environs .. Anyone know what it was called ... ??
Up North Currently on Amazon Prime and it's shocking IMO https://www.essex-tv.co.uk/up-north/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4481062/
not only thing Peter Kay as said about Barnsley. In his earlier days he did a show called "That Peter Kay Thing" in which he did a few sketches one was about an ice cream man who had a rival. His rival was called senior whippy and it turns out he got arrested in the end, the quote was "Would you trust an Italian Ice Cream Man from Barnsley?" I am sure we all know who he is relating to in the programme.
