    It's a blatant marketing strategy, but Amazon's functions "if you liked that, you might like this" and "customers who bought that also bought this" can be really useful when coupled with YouTube. Especially when you don't have mates who share your musical tastes. Or indeed, if you have no mates at all.

    If that's your bag, I reckon you'll probably love the Kelly Lee Owens album that Barnsley Chopin posted, and probably Bicep as well. Hadn't heard of either of them when I woke up this morning, can't get enough of them by 6pm!

    My mates used to put on a night called Superconductor in the late 90's / early 2000's . They had Laurent Garnier on, as well as Jeff Mills, Rob Hood, Carl Craig, Andy Weatherall, Ben Sims, Francois K, Octave One, Kevin Saunderson & many more Detroit legends. I occasionally used to spin weird stuff in the back room...

    They were good times. They ended up losing a bucket load of cash though, putting on great acts, mainly from Detroit, many of which the techno fans of Leeds were less aware of. Was a fun time. I had a record shop in Leeds called Soul Alley. Quite a few of the DJs came in. We had Eddie Fowlkes helping out behind the counter!
