Just about to post that! I also thought it when he had the shot, that he was trying to do a Conor and score in his last game.
Doubt he’s going anywhere just yet. Hecky sez awaiting scan results for him. See my Post match Hecky sez post for link.
I would like to get him to sign a new contract. Worth making him a decent offer. If he then moves in the summer we'll get a good fee for him. With his injury record I think a lot of clubs will be a bit hesitant. Worst possible scenario is he just runs his contract down like Scowen did.
Several around me (Ponty) commented that it looked like a goodbye. Hope not, those two today are in my opinion our best 2 full backs.
Hopefully Hecky can get him to sign a new contract with us, he is clearly the best full back at the club & contrary to what some said on here , since he came back from his original injury , he has been thoroughly professional & given is all every game , he certainly does not look like someone who has spit the dummy out when his deal fell through
I was one who said/thought that. I was wrong. Massively. He’s playing at the levels he was last year. Which is one of the best full backs in the league. Would be over the moon if he signed a new contract.
Yiadom is clearly the best right back in the club - better currently than Cavare but willing to see the latter develop in time if Yiadom goes. However if Yiadom stays he is wasted at left-back as it restricts his effectiveness. A left-footed full-back should be a priority as Fryers is not the answer in my opinion.
I think PH is an honourable bloke and alongside this part of the policy has been to sign up talent with the promise that we wouldn't stand in their way when, eventually, good opportunities come their way. In that respect the club may feel they have to allow him a move. However, given our new financial muscle I'd prefer us to write off the chance to cash in on him now and ask him to see out the remainder of the season.
Says here Yiadom has been linked with Swansea again, but I don't know where. Apart from the usual gossip on social media I've heard nothing. Also, talk on this link about Carlos wanting to keep this player and bring in that one. He's only in the job until the end of the season. If the price is right and the wages generous, Mawson will be off, regardless of what Mr "fockers on the pitch" wants. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/swansea-city-transfer-news-digest-14143219
A relegation threatened side giving a Championship player £30,000 per week? Absolutely not. They’d up his wages, that’s a given, but £30,000 per week? No chance.
