    Rest in peace patrick.

Hope your family gain the strength they need from all the messages on here and all over the social platforms.

The respect he has gained has proved him wrong on one thing.

He felt he didnt know how to run a club and that his knowledge was limited. (Or words to that effect years ago)

But with the outpouring of messages from other clubs and player's past and present. Clearly shows he had gained upmost respect all over the country.

Rest in peace Patrick. Two thoughts from me.

Firstly for your family, my sympathy and best wishes. I hope they can take some comfort from knowing you are now at peace.

Secondly, your legacy. The fact my son, the 4th generation of Metatarsal, has a club to bring pleasure, frustration and hours of endless debate is actually priceless. You've left us a club in a far better place than you found it in. Thank you doesn't really do it justice.

Awful news, even though it was expected.

RIP Patrick, the saviour of our club.

Truly dreadful news, even though we knew it was coming. Sincere condolences to the Cryne family, including all connected to our great club.

Go in peace sir, and thanks for everything you have done over the years for Barnsley FC. Think the 'Patrick Cryne Stand' would be a fitting tribute.

Only just seen this sad news. Thank you Patrick for saving the club and putting it on a stable footing, hopefully for generations to come. RIP.

I read there will be one in the club shop. We probably need several...
