In the words of Paul Conway: "we're not going to do anything crazy". Offers and wages might be higher than before, but don't expect them to just splash out wherever possible.
Seems inevitable what's going to happen.... exactly the same as will happen a week on Saturday at Oakwell. Cynical old git I am.
So that info is from the club is it , not from a journalist ,if its not speculation , then I will believe it
Agreed, it was a hypothetical position, however the twitters seem to suggest our offer was < the release clause, which is apparently 500k
Or we may not have been after him for this window at all. Could have agreed a contract now to come on a free in the summer, then changed our mind and be agreeing a fee to get him now We just don't know.
The player has less than 6 months remaining on his contract, which means he is already free to discuss terms with anyone. The club cannot stand in his way.
That would only apply if we looking at a pre contract agreement to sign him at the end of his deal not immediately. If I understand your post correctly Scott.
It wouldn’t be offset against ST money though would it? It’s CAPEX isn’t it, not REVEX. Wages yes, transfer fee no.
I hope that we dont lose him to someone else cos we take forever to agree to pay £440k. Even with just 6months left I think this is looking value for money. But how is he going to fit in team.. one website says he plays more like a CF role than CAM so you'd have to play him as striker or a 4-4-1-1 to keep it similar to formation that hecky likes in 4-4-2.
I feel like the reason we never score goals is for one reason. No player in our team ever and I mean like EVER.. Runs across the front post for a cross. Any good striker would dart to the front post for that whipped ball or low driven cos if the cross is pacey itll be too low usually for back and if its floated it might be easily cleared or collected. Why noone makes those front post runs is beyond me.. there are chances just waiting to be took at front post. Even a poor cross might just bounce before keeper at front post and can cause havoc.
What does it matter whether it’s recognised through the P&L or on the balance sheet? They’re both cash flows so do offset.
