There we have it https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/22980/paul-heckingbottom-appointed-head-coach
Hope he's unemployed in 3 months along with all his backroom staff. No room for sentiment in football.
Fk him .. it's the best move for everyone,us and him ..he may be a good coach but I doubt a good manager ... He played for these lovely people after all..
I’m not having all this bile towards him. He gave me one of the best twelve months I’ve seen as a barnsley fan, and made my son a fan for life. I’m very sad to see him leave and think we’re poorer for it. I also think in the cold light of day that he’s probably made the right decision. I don’t think it would have been that easy for him - but made all the easier by the increasing minority that seemed determined to get him out. He’s chased the dollar, but he’s also gone to a club with the infrastructure and fan base to become a very large premier league club again. I don’t deny him that, especially when it means he doesn’t have to uproot his kids. And the fact he played for Wednesday is irrelevant - it’s not like he’d ever been at Barnsley other than as a fan prior to that.
That's your choice, l couldn't give two fu*ks about him now, he's a rival in the same division so l wish him the shitte*t luck in the world. I support Barnsley FC not Paul Heckingbottom.
I’m neither small minded nor lack ambition. But if you can’t see that as a football club Leeds is a bigger outfit than us at this moment in time you have issues. We are what we are. We have a 23000 seat stadium we struggle to half fill, and a decent catchment area for fans - but for which we struggle to attract due to competition from Leeds and the Sheffield clubs as well as Manchester. We have wealthy new owners. We have an opportunity to grow in a healthy and sustained way. In the future we may be a much bigger club and established at a higher level. But - at this very second - we aren’t Leeds United. It would actually be quite small minded to think otherwise. There is life outside Barnsley Football Club. Not for me, but for people who work in the industry most definitely. Mansford went. Hecky has gone taking half the staff with him. Come May, if he wanted any of the players, they would likely go too. No point pretending any different. I think the ill feeling towards him is a bit daft and unfair. Wilson was hated for years yet years and years later was welcomed back with open arms by most. Some would have him back now. I’d like to think Heckingbottom would be welcomed back here should the opportunity arise.
Listen pal if you can't comment politely don't comment.. I want the best for BFC.. if you've got a love in wi PH that's you ..if you've a need to tell everyone about how big Leeds are, you've got the issues.
You should read properly , I made a generalization not a petty insult like thee..and I said "your comments" ..and others like em..
Agree - managers and players will come and go - have done before and will again - these can be exciting times and a great opportunity for a new team at the helm and maybe we will start playing to our strengths and stop over thinking - attack attack attack attack attack
Spot on. Some very weak & mediocre people commenting on this. Bet you could shag their mrs and they'd concede you have after all got a better infrastructure to please her.
Like the Scowen/Hourihane debacle - lets clap them off the field after they've just scored against us.
It's just defeatist . With attitudes like this we'll never get any where . I believe our club are capable of getting in the Premier league with the like's of similar sized clubs like Burnley , Bournemouth , Watford etc . Some people are pleased to continue being #littleoldbarnsley and enjoy being a big club in League 1 . Where's the ambition ?
