Disappointed, bit necessarily that he's gone but the plundering of staff too.

I completely get why he would go. Even if he fails there (and the Leeds fans don't seem particularly enamoured with his appointment) then he fails with three years worth of his Barnsley salary in his back pocket.

No matter how well he'd done here what odds he'd still be employed in three years? It's unlikely. So simple maths, bigger turnover etc, etc - sticks in the craw but I'm a similar age and he can make himself comfortable for life even in failure.

Then we get taking the staff with him. Complete b*stards trick that for me. At least Johnson took himself and no-one else. Great bit of work from 'one of our own'.

Again, I get he wants to be a success there and having staff you trust is part of that but why couldn't that bit of recruitment have been done at the end of the season? Leave us some continuity, give us time to source a replacement.

Paul 'one of our own' Heckingbottom has left us in the most despicable of ways only days after signing his new deal (complete with release clause so the club couldn't refuse permission for discussions) and ripped the heart out of the backroom team assembled.

    For that, I'm bitter.

Right now I want nothing more than to see Heckinbottom fall flat on his ar*e at Leeds and be unemployed inside the next six months. I know how petty that sounds and I'm embarrassed to feel that way - but the manner of his departure and how contrived it all feels .... urgh ... ugly side of football from someone I thought had more class.

I wish him nothing but bad luck in his new role and hope the Leeds fans give him hell.

One of our own - aye alright.

It just shows that we collectively can be hoodwinked for months by our "Barnsley through and through" man. Let us never forget this. What Paul has done is raped the Club and rubbed all our noses in the sh1tstorm that he has progressively and carefully been engineering over quite some time. Make no mistake, this "sudden" departure is anything but. He must have been quietly pissing himself whilst putting together with his loyal backroom staff this total kick in the teeth for the club. Enjoy Leeds chums I'll give you all 12 moths before you're collectively out. Would I welcome you back here "Let bygones be bygone's blah, blah". Yes of course I would, just buy a season ticket like everyone else cos that's the only way you'll ever get in Oakwell again. Total Shyster.

Regardless of our opinion any new manager /coach is always likely to bring in his own team and those still here are likely to be out of a job. We can argue he as done wrong by us, but has he done right by them?

Johnson went to a club he loves. Hecky has gone to a club he 'hates'.

Sadly must agree with alot of the things said on this post. I feel that this whole thing was not done in the 24 hours that we have been told but agents at work behind the scenes for much longer. Felt JC was no Tommy Wright either and his departure started a decine. The timing of the whole thing has made survival much harder. But its time to rally the players and get behind the staff who have stayed and give them our total support. Very very dissappointed in PH though. Gone down in my estimation.

Departure if Tommy Wright started the decline? We had our best spell a couple of months after he went.

The decline started when we lost Hourihane, Winnall, Bree & Morsy in the space of 3 weeks
