Let's remember that Nathan winder was one half of the duo who came up with that pathetic position of maximum opportunity ******** presentation. That he was head of sports science and who's job it was to get players fit yet thiam has been here nearly 6 months and is still blowing out of his arse after 20 seconds on the pitch, that he led the medical team in misdiagnosing Ryan Williams so epically badly to the point that the manager shamefully told the public that he had psychological problems, that he was head of sports science when dale Jennings was a fat lazy lump of lard with no motivation and no desire or mental state to lose weight and get fit and that generally he's watched over a group of players who have been notoriously unfit for the last few years. Fancy job title but frankly I've never seen any evidence on the pitch that he's any good at it
This sports science ******** has probably been responsible for most of Hecky's team changes. The claptrap that argues that some players haven't recovered sufficiently from a Saturday game by the Tuesday. It's probably why our top two goalscorers (Bradshaw and Barnes) were both benched for that Cardiff game, which began the runnus horribilis.
The players are professionals & no matter how well trained they are during the working day , they still have to be disciplined away from the ground & I fear that self responsibility might be a problem with some players & to blame the coaches for some players lack of apparent fitness might be wide of the mark
Said this in an earlier post, Nathan didn't invent sports science and sports scientists are ten a penny these days. No great loss.
Fair enough with Williams if he misdiagnosed the injury but you can hardly blame him for Jennings & Thiam.
My best mate got the same degree as him and he’s done very well for his self. He’s a financial investor.
It’s his job to advise a player what to eat & how to look after themselves but he can’t be there 24/7. For me last season the squad was the fittest I’ve ever known it. Roberts, Yiadom, Scowen, Hourihane, Watkins, Winnall, Kent etc all super fit. James Bree was relentless down the right hand side.
When I met Nathan Winder, I thought he was very arrogant. I have no doubt that he's good at his job however.
