He's a mercenary. It's the way of the world. There is no loyalty in the professional football world. Except for the fans. We now have a first team who have no local connection to Barnsley. An international consortium. A French CEO. Well that's OK, at least they are not pretending to be one of the fans, or to exploit a local connection. 'Ecky did. On many occasions. For that I would call him two faced, hypocritical, devious, untrustworthy and a lot of other adjectives not fit to print. "Fair play to a decent man who I wish every success." You must be joking. He signed that contract with Barnsley, knowing he was out of the door. Knowing he would take his cronies with him. Knowing he was leaving a club in the lurch. Whatever happened on his watch, the new board was backing him, made money available, and he turned round and spat in their faces. Well eff off Paul Heckingbottom. I don't wish him well...
Another post based upon assumptions without facts. And without time for consideration of what might be the whole of the circumstances. This has recently been a horrible time to be a Barnsley supporter - in contrast to the wonderful time we had a year or two ago. 2018 has not gone well. The numbness presently felt by the less hot headed supporter emanates from the sheer speed of Hecky's departure. We thought he was with us in the same boat, with a plan to keep us afloat in this league, but if we sank then we'd expect him to build a sturdier one. He most probably had already tried to be winched out to Sunderland. And that dry run made it easier to pack up his backroom "valuables" when the next rescue attempt came along. The lesson learned here ought to be that we must not place trust. Again. Sadly nobody deserves it these days when money trumps everything.
Will see what people think about the so called Tarn fan when he tries to sign a couple (Yids and Pinnock maybe)
Lad I work with his is a big Leeds fan says Hecky will get no input at all on players he wants. They have a head of recruitment who signs the players, but then Hecky will be used to that if people on here are to be believed.
I've decided there's going to be 'no more heroes'. I'm going to cheer the team on as vociferously as ever, but the individuals will just be a red blur.
