His contract - it was reported as done but then went cold from memory.

I imagine that coincided with Leeds downturn in form - and when he was tapped up but can’t quite remember

Heard today from a reliable person that he was tapped up after the Newport leeds game which was 7th Jan?

Just wondered if that ties in

The night he had his 'evening with' at The Lamproom he said he was signing next day or so it was reported on here by somebody who was there.

I am not being funny but some of these conspiracy theories are unbelievable , he signed his contract last week & I am sure if Leeds had wanted him in early january then they would have tried to get him then thus avoiding increased compensation payments a new contract brings

Did he have a release clause in his previous contract?

There was no release clause in Conor Hourihane's contract - didn't stop him going.

He hadn't just signed a new one though. Plus player transfer fees tend to be higher than managerial compensation. Hence, the potential loss when a player is out of contract is far greater.
