No idea if anyone has picked up on this or if it's in another thread......... This Setdi, dinnertime, Us v Sheff Weds and all but 15 mins difference if kick off its Sheff Utd v Leeds!!!!!!! WTF So at mid/late morning Sheff train/bus station will be full of Wednesday on the way to us and Leeds landing in Sheffield on their way to Bramall Lane. Then mid/late afternoon the reverse will be happening!!!!!! This bends logic beyond comprehension.
Our KO was set at 12 15 at start of season but Sky picking Blunts v Leeds for coverage has buggered up their plans big style. SYP should've put our game back to the original 3pm KO but oh no that's too logical & might be seen as a climbdown on their part. You couldn't make it up.....
It’s been happening all over the country for months, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, in London at the same time, travel restrictions lifted for Millwall Leeds, then you’ve got Doncaster, Sheffield United, going in the same direction on trains most weeks, Villa playing late on Saturday so them and Brum get back in new street at the same time. And so on and so on, anyone would think there’s a World Cup with high risk of violence coming up, and they’re wanting people on banning orders or something.
Simple answer to this Police are giving targets to ban so many fans prior to any major tournament. Surprise surprise the World Cup starts in July
Not thought of that. It's just crazy. As said above once the Leeds game was moved for tv we should have gone back to 3pm.
I'll be on the one arriving just after 11 from leeds to sheffield!!! Be a long half hour that with them lot from bellend road!
SYP have considered all this and their masterplan is to knock 5k off our attendance to compensate for their incompetence.
Bit worried about this to be honest. My car is out of action so it's looks like I'm going to have to get the train from Leeds to Barnsley and then back again. Didn't realise that Leeds fans would be travelling in the same direction.
If your getting the 10.34 from leeds I'll be on there with my little 4 year old lad.... He will have his shirt on so come say hi if you don't fancy travelling on your own.
As an alternative you could get a train to Huddersfield then from there to Barnsley, and go back the same way. It would obviously take longer, but it's just a thought...
I accidentally did that the other week when coming back from a match I was following a woman who was taking an absolute age to walk down the steps and I heard the train making the noise to indicate that the doors were going to shut. I managed to jump on the train at the last second, just as I noticed through the window that the board said it was the train to Huddersfield.
You'll probably be alright on the way back if you come straight back. Might be a bit of a bugger getting there in the morning though.
My lad got the train from Leeds over for their game at Oakwell. Kept his shirt under wraps and his head down. No bother until Barnsley station where the police wouldn't let him out - made him join the escorted group up to the ground, despite him showing them his season ticket! Eventually found a copper with a brain who let him leave the group.
