All of us over the last 2 years .... ''we need to get ******** signed up or extended, they've only got **** months left and we'll lose him for little or next to nowt!!!!!!!!''............... So nothing happens and the ****** becomes Scowen, Watkins, Bree, Winnall.... and to a lesser extent as we got a decent deal but could have got either longer service of more value, Connor, Mawson, Roberts, .... then in the future Yids etc...... yes all mistakes we've learned about contacts and the misgivings over not doing our business correctly. THEN......... Hecky signs a new one, well played........ 48 hours later he's gone! Football is a strange animal, unlike any other business that operates. That's what p1sses me off. Mharez at Leicester gone AWOL on £100k a week on a contract he signed only 12 months ago for 4 years now bairning coz his Citeh deal didn't come off! As much as I love football it seriously questions me sometimes!
It started to go tits up when the powers that be decided that away teams didn't get a share of the league gate receipts . From then on the rich got richer etc
With what's happened with PH, it doesn't seem like there's any point in having a contract. Money and release clauses do the talking. For me, It's pretty obvious PH had this lined up. Of course we enjoyed Wembley twice and a good first half to last season before the rug was pulled from under him but.... It's not the fact he's left us, (by form & results he was overdue the sack anyway) but I'm sure most will agree that the timing and where he's gone to is the major issue - sickening.
The high turnover of players is ruining football for me. I think it's sad that players don't stay at a club long enough any more to become true heroes. It's now virtually impossible for anyone to get close to our goal scoring and appearance records for instance. My 81 year old father sums it up for me, when I mention a player and he says "who the hell's that". They are so greedy that putting an extra '0' on their already ridiculous wages comes before making the right decision to improve them as a footballer or making a real name for themselves. The scripted ******** they come out with on social media when they sign, the team wins or they leave says it all really. The same sound-bites and cliches they've probably all been told to say. Insincere, disloyal, two-faced, uncommitted twerps - the lot of them.
We obviously don't know the facts, but signing the contract has at least given us half a million quid we wouldn't have had, had he just walked away and signed for Leeds.
To suggest this without any evidence is as unjustified as suggesting the club had it lined up all along to up the compensation. There's many a way to spin a conspiracy story!
I personally couldn't care less about him going or that he's gone to that shower, what has boiled my piss is the iffy way that he's done it and then tried to further destabilise the club he's supposed to love by taking all the backroom staff and with us right in the middle of a relegation battle , cnuts trick in opinion , sithi.
I would think it would be wise he moved out of the area as well. Can’t see he or even his family could walk around the town without attracting unwanted attention.
Shame about his family but if I saw him in the street on his own I’d have to tell him he’s a knob. Even more for personal reasons that make more sense following all this.
This sums up why I very rarely join in chants regarding players or the manager. Other than the rare player such AH they are here simply to earn as much money as they can with no affinity to the club/area what so ever. If somebody came and offered to treble my wages to do the same job but wearing a different colour shirt I would be off like a shot. Lets not forget these poor souls may be on as LITTLE AS £3,000 a week. The only constant is the club which I support and the fans, I accepted that long ago and just accept that the club’s staff move on. Just for the record I thought Heckingbottom did OK at first but he was running out of time. Think positive vibes COYR
Hardly a conspiracy story tho. He left, rather bizarrely only hours after signing A contract that he hadnt had previous . Whether it was brought about for his or the club's benefit is an open question.
Only reason to get em on contracts is to maximise value when they (their agents) manoeuvre themselves a move. Job's ******.
Thats why being a local taking on your home town club is a big risk because if it goes sour , you & your family are right in the firing line & whilst I would love big Macca to come in , the abuse he could potentially get if it went pear shape might be the deciding factor on him taking the job or not
If Mick Mccarthy has been reading this board over the last 48 hours I'd imagine he'd be even more loathe to put his reputation on the line by coming here. It seems if he moved up again and upset the fans he'd have to move out of the area for fear of getting hassled.
