I believe the following to be true:
2 of the 3 players that upset a team doing well forced a move.
We got decent brass for them in the process
Tommy Wright’s departure pissed on heckys bonfire
We weren’t financially able to keep the out of contract players in the summer
Under our last club custodian the financial future of the club was prioritised over short term gambles
Our new owners simply haven’t had the time to change our commercial income yet
We did ok in the January transfer window
Heckys gone having won 1 in 16
We’ve 4 quality players to come back into an already decent looking match day squad
Isn’t it just time to crack on and concentrate on the next couple of months and stop dragging old **** up that we can’t change?
We need to stop bleating like badly done to children in my opinion and get on with it

I think a lot of work will be done on Oakwell in the summer.

    Agree with most of that.

The only bits I think are debatable are:

Tommy Wright - I think the effect his departure had is being seriously exaggerated on here, more than a year after the event.

The out of contract players (and Roberts). Unable to keep them, or unwilling to pay them what they wanted?

I agree with tommy Wright his input is exaggerated by many but Jamie Clapham ffs he did ***** at Coventry and then came here and did ***** he is consistent as an assistant.

I'm not sure about josh scowern I heard he turned down Huddersfield to move down south an be closer to family. Marley watkins made it quite clear he didnt want a new contract and would have gone in jan if his request had been granted.

I heard a few things about Scowen, all unconfirmed. But from what I could glean from his clown of a dad's comments on Twitter, it was at least worth us making him a decent offer if we were serious about keeping him. As for Marley, the impression I got was that he was determined to move quite simply because he didn't think we'd be willing to offer him what he thought he was worth, and what he (correctly) supposed somebody else would pay him. He was right. But it didn't seem to me that either player was desperate to leave Barnsley per se.
